  • I would get a mash bolt instead

copy that. I got a histogram and the paint job ,in person, didnt do it for me. somehow the matte finish for me didnt do the business. Sold it without building it up. no regrets.

  • I really love this, I'd ride the shit out of it, it looks so fast.

edit: what frame is this? and look at that chain stay dimple..

    It's a 2005 KHS Flite 100.

EDIT: Just realised this has already been answered.

  • There's more differences between the Bolt and histogram beside just paint. Histogram is much tighter/twitcher geo i think

I'm not particularly bothered about the paintwork, as I will most likely matte-black-murder it.

I was under the impression that the Histogram and the Bolt had different geos, which I am more worried about, however, all the sizing charts I can find are exactly the same. I need a short top-tube because I'm a combination of T-rex arms and my spine is fucked, so I'm erring towards the Histogram, geometry wise.

  • If i am not wrong the top tube isnt the difference, its the head tub angle.

    both geos here:

yep. tube length almost excactly the same just head tue angle diff. shorter WB.

  • The histogram has tighter clearances... How tall are you MM?

  • HHST? Someone buy mine, and put plastic wheels on it. It's a Lo-Pro track tandem for extra slave points. http://www.lfgss.com/thread88985.html

How come you're abandoning the project? Looks like you're off to a good start.

5'8" and a bit, but with dinky 30" legs with tight hamstrings & ITB and a spine that doesn't bend from the hips.

  • sounds like you couldn't be less suited to a lo-pro if you tried

  • he should get the foffa high pro :)

  • Just slam the saddle and run high-rise BMX bars. You'll get a comfortable position and you can sleep safe in the knowledge that it still won't look as bad as 90% of the bikes on the Leader Facebook page.

  • sounds like you couldn't be less suited to a lo-pro if you tried

Absolutely unsuited to a lo-pro, a bro-pro with a short top-tube like the Mash, however, seems to fit the bill.

I'm popping to my LBS in a couple of days to play with their bke-fit jig and see if the geo is going to be as useful as I think it might be. Time will tell.

  • Don't hate the frame, hate the player.

The Bolt has a lower bottom bracket too. Without having ridden either, I reckon the Bolt would be much nicer-handling.

  • depends what you define as nicer really... I'd rather the hipstergram geo with the bolt paint.

The effective top tube on the Mash isn't short at all, in fact the frames are pretty much square - 53 x 53, 55 x 55, etc. To get a short top tube you'd normally go down a size but it will exacerbate the issue of the short headtube. Unless, of course, you run a short stem and risers, in which case you'll be fine.

If you need a short reach and not much drop, what you really want is a Langster.

  • I never understood how mash is a team of graphical designers, photographers and whatnot yet they still manage to do the worst looking paint scheme of all times, I mean the mash histogram. If they just slammed a simple one color paint job on the frame and put cinelli decals on it with some mash decals on chainstays...

  • Frrrrrsh as fuck

  • depends what you define as nicer really... I'd rather the hipstergram geo with the bolt paint.

Nicer = better front/rear balance. I'm not a fan of bikes that you have to second guess all the time. Of course, HHSB oneupmanship demands AGGRESSIVE GEOMETRIEZ so I'll shut up now. :)

  • I'm trying to figure out which is the best quality for a bro pro...

  • low is the king of bro pros
