^You want story...?
On Flickr someone's posted thisJordan Huffnagel owned this and was hit a few times. I found out while working in SF in '06 and getting flagged down by him(it's how we met). I just bought it from the kid he sold it to as a replacement for my older failed frame. This is when I was told me it was cursed.
A couple days later I am sitting at Pier 7 eating and I get a text from a friend. She just saw a fatality on Market and mass texted to tell friends to be careful. Doing this for a messenger is like telling a surfer to watch out for sharks. Ten minutes later I get a money run just into the mission. I get three blocks and a cab runs a red left turn signal coming toward me and hits me head on. Ejected. Front flip to back. Staring at blue sky and four tall buildings. I was fine. Bike was fine. Just some pain and scars.
A couple months later, during the post NACCC crit on Embarcadero I get nailed at speed by another taxi who guns what he thought was a gap between bikes, but didn't get through clean. Killed the fork, bars, and front wheel(cab skidded to a stop on it). Dented the top tube. I tore some stuff in my left leg pretty good. Couldn't walk for a month.
Back in Portland. It's been a year plus. I run into Jordan at his newer space on Hawthorne and asks if I'm still riding the cursed Casati. I tell him I am and that I don't believe in curses. Two days later I am at work downtown and lock up around a lamp post on the sidewalk, post between the bike and the street, three feet in. Trimet bus cuts hard into a temporary bus stop and swings the front end over the curb, just catching the rear wheel, spinning the bike around the pole and demolishing the rear wheel I just built. I am standing there dumbfounded with about 50 envelopes for about 45 drops in my bag. My bike just got hit by a bus while it was parked. I wasn't even riding it this time. And to rub it in, I had to take Trimet back to my house to get my road bike.
One week ago, a junkie on a MTB(a zombie on a Magna pretty much) is meandering in the intersection I'm passing though on my way home, and he turns toward me and takes a sharp left as I'm ten feet away. Broken tubular track wheel, catlike helmet, and nearly separated shoulder. Oh, he gave me $23, so it's all good.
So no, it's not cursed at all. What would make anyone think it is?
Thank you 220lb original owner for choosing the SP tube set. Here you go... http://www.flickr.com/photos/odeum/4517223814/
This was all covered on pg.60 of Rats/Beaters etc. (probably a more appropriate place for it)
One of my favourites though... -

Acceptable to post your own sled right? Apologies if not.
Nothing too special here, my Charge Plug Racer 09, slightly slaved up, lot of fun to ride. Still need to change stem and get my hands on a moar salve saddle.
