Bought some cheap risers (with Ourys, of course) on a whim this morning. I'm not going to be doing my 40 mile commute on these, but they're hilarious. Coming from my bullhorns, the handling is amazingly responsive and you can just throw the bike around so much. It's like riding a 'proper size' BMX, with slick tyres. Great fun.
And it looks salve as fuck with the Spok and bottle cage. Bonus.

^^ I still do not understand why people get frames with such a short head tube if they're just gonna stick 40mm of spacers on it! Looks shit.

a size up would look weirder. the problems with having trex arms

Then find a frame that is the right size and geometry to fit all round!
I have a Omnium frame from '09 (I think) and its a 55cm sq frame with a 175mm head tube, fits me perfect with no need for hundreds of unsightly spacers!
.... and breath... ok, rant over.

Apart from the giant and the vigoreli not many track/tarck frames have long headtubes with upward sloping TTs. (i think could be completely wrong)
i agree it would look nicer with out the spacers but it's already got compact drop so it looks like it's just how the rider gets it to fit (never know he/she might have got it for a complete bargain or something)
at least they don't run it slamed for looks and find it horrible to ride

This is HHSB thread - the only excuse for an unsightly headtube/steerer assembly is barspins.
Lose the spacers, slam the stem and get aero - if that doesn't work get some risers!

^^ Lol!
Ok guys, need a bit of help here.
Trying to find a HHSB suitable setback seat post as the lovely Shimano 600 aero post that was only just gonna be long enough that I received this morning is 15mm shorter than expected and just ain't gonna work.
Any recommendations considering I have white frame, black SLR, black Thomson stem, silver Campag front wheel, silver DA crankset, and black rear wheel, that are suitably hip and a min of 25cm? -

Is it some form of be safe-be seen striplight then?

aha - not a bad idea - less amusing than a monkey electric though.

Hoping to get some Restraps soon, or clipless, when I can afford to not do it half-assedly.
Rear wheel is definitely the weak point and I'll be building something new... again, when I have the money!
Brakes will stay because the cops are hot on it here and it's not worth a fine large enough to buy a whole bike (no exaggeration).
