Pretty sure the original comment was meant as lows look like mashes which is what the dude says. Commonly normal people would connotate 'knock off' with form, as with the similar 'rip off'.
Depending on context both phrases can have many meanings.
Knock offs can be of high, the same or even higher quality in form, function and manufacturing.

I’m saying the comparison to mash and low don’t make sense. The low pursuit was inspired from the KHS aero and the c Track, in the 90s. Not from mash histos, bolts etc. I’m not defending any brand. Mash and low are both great but are different despite the sanfran location

Mash have frames bar ends tape stems saddles cranks etc made for them. You can buy a mash frame on eBay any day any time.
Low make custom frames and sell hoodies n tshirts in small production. I cannot agree with low being a knock off mash. A bolt and a pursuit next to each other look different. They just both have a sloping top tubes.
