I could possibly be.....

I need suggestions for a slave wheel build on the Parallax, just picked up a set DA hubs but can't decided on what rims. Was thinking open pro's in silver or ceramic, also considered Archetypes.

grey tb 14 looks great too

I kind of dig the contrast between fat alu tubes and skinny rims

I agree, not a bad shout! Will look into that, I'm swaying towards all silver for that traditional track bling.

Looks lovely! What do people think to black rims, silver spokes/hubs?
-
• #49184
Always silver spokes

Stop worrying about what other people think and build what you like.

I love that touring Vig, reminds me of simpler times.

but that would remove 99% of the bollocks in this thread.

Surely this thread came about from people building the most ridiculous things and not giving a fuck about other peoples opinions?
As recently mentioned by @Mancini - far too much matchy matchy bullshit lately and people building bikes for other peoples viewing pleasure rather than for just doing it for their own enjoyment.

Silver spokes don't draw as much attention as black, so the wheel looks "slimmer".
But it's your bike, go nuts etc :)

This thread came about as a means to troll the bike porn nazis.
Worked out alright for the most part.

I don't think it's people worrying about what others will think, I think it's people realizing this specific thread has a lot of like-minded people with similar taste.
It's like asking your buddies knowing you'll get an honest answer...and you can choose to agree or go against it.
Guess I'm glad that I found this thread because I had similar views on bike parts/styles even before coming across it...it's like a sub-culture within a sub-culture so I respect the advice since 99% of the bike world would find this stuff horrible. haha^
That Anchor above is awesome. I know it's about fit but still not a huge fan of the upward sloping top tube on road bikes..even if it's subtle (also don't care for radial lacing). That paint is to die for though. -

Do you like HHSB?
-
• #49197
not hhsb. looks like a parts bin build. bars need rotating.
-
• #49198
not hhsb.
In what world are Omniums with what looks like a DA ring, a Thomson seatpost and stem, 'parts bin' parts and is a Cinelli Mash frameset not HHSB?
-
• #49199
you're right, but it's not a very slave build regardless.
-
• #49200
when it looks like you have put a bunch of 'hhsb' parts on your bike that don't match. Black seat post and silver stem combo does not look good, just because they are both Thomson doesn't automatically mean hhsb. The same goes for the front wheel silver spokes and rear wheel black spokes.
Was a good bike but I'm broke and already have a huge steel frame.
