Some upgrades...switched to Look's, and not looking back. Swapped out a zen for an F5...so impressed...buttery smooth feel and ninja-quiet movement.
Pan out.

^ nice. might get myself an f5 as well. i'm currently running 44x16, if i get a 47t f5 what size cog would i need to keep a (roughly) similar gear ratio? i'm quite happy with 44x16, but wouldn't mind maybe something a little bit higher. number of skid patches would be a consideration as well. cheers!

^just google sheldon brown's gear calculator. you can check out a few options for ring and sprocket in one calculation. choose prime numbers for max skid patches. that's 49x17 (yes...i know 49 is not a prime number!).

I think those f5 look pretty awful. reminds me of a chainlink fence or tacky low rider chopper wheels.

i know...i thought that. my pics don't do them anything like justice. in the hand they're made to a very high standard and look really good on in the flesh. I was really surprised, especially when the missus actually noticed the new ring on in the shed and described it as 'beautiful' #nojoke

cheers folks. f5 looks good on d-good's bike, i see what you mean though. might not look as good on mine (pake rum runner). got a gebhardt on it now, had it for about 3 years so should probably think about replacing it soon

Heard he whipskidded, broke the chainring, fell off a motorway overpass (on to the motorway), then got hit by a lorry. Broke every bone in his body, and had serious difficulty defecating thereafter.

And is now phobic of Gregs, for fear of seeing any form of lattice-topped pastry.

The sum of the parts > than the whole.
