I believe when previously discussed the comments on the frame were:
It like they tried so hard to envisage the future they actually went back in time and got stuck in Halfords on Putney High Street around 1993.

I believe when previously discussed the comments on the frame were:
ah ok thanks also that fork clearance looks huge

I'm using clips and straps on my commuter at the moment and they're shit. If I pull up to skid my shoe just comes away from the pedal and slips out, or if it does stay in place the sole just bends and the pedal keeps rotating.
seriously, if someone knows how to make them less shit, I'm all ears.

what pedal?

I'm ignoring you

except with some double cages and straps

I found plastic cages held my foot much more nicely than the metal ones, I also made the soles of my vans stiffer because the flex was giving me pain in the middle of my foot. Clipless is just so much better but if that's not appropriate then I guess freestyle straps are second best.

aw fuck it I may have to try plastic cages.

Those pedals are awful too. Mks GR something/sylvan/rx-? , double plastic cages, most comfy setup I've tried...

The MKS White industries ripoff looks great
Pair that up with some skate deck grip tape, plastic doubles and SAG straps and I think we have a winner.

• #37115
^which ones are they?
-
• #37116
MKS Urban Platform.
Wider than the GR9 and with a large flip thingy.
The WI equivalent costs £200 -

Nah, they're shit in the wet... Get some sylvans, or some posher caged ones.

• #37118
I'm thinking maybe getting some XL cages rather than the L ones I've got at the mo may help
-
• #37119
Try plastic, if you don't like, I'll buy them, been looking for another pair of plastic doubles. I'm a size 11, think the ones I currently have are an L.
-
• #37120
Hence the skate grip tape I mentioned
-
• #37121
Size of cage also depends on your cleat position equivalent.
If you ride back go for LL. If you like your cleats forward, maybe even a M

• #37122
I think the problem is that the knuckle of my little toe is right at the back of the strap, I think if my foot can go further into the pedal it will be less inclined to slip out.

I went from MKS metal cages to All City plastic cages and noticed a huge difference. Way comfier, no toe pain & easier to skid.
Also swapped Sylvians for G9s. The Sylvians were shocking in the wet.

Eighthinch track pedals, BLB plastic doubles and straps worked well for me...until the outside pedal cage ripped away from the body

^^ I had trouble finding any a little while ago.
I purchased large All-City clips last night on Amazon for £10 incl delivery which I thought was quite reasonable. They've only got flouro green left now
also if you trash the front half of the frame it might be cheaper to get only that half replaced.
