I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a pair of the Deda Dabars out of all the bars I've seen, I like the shape the best and they're wider than the (madly overdone) MASH shit... although I have to confess that I did consider them!

Did the first mock up today and pretty happy, waiting on new stem to turn up and more cash for right bars, tape and pedals, and need to do a fair bit of polishing/decal removing, but is looking good.

The pink that Campagnolo used on their Vento rims is foul though!

Also, the battered Dura Ace cranks I've got are a bit brutalized, so wondering if they can be sanded down to remove minor scratches, dinks and blemishes and them re-polished, or would that ruin the finish?

Polishing isn't too difficult, even easier if you've got a power drill.

Thanks for the link Malaysian, order of 350 grade sand paper and some Autosol will be sent off soon as I have funds!

Reckon the DA cranks and Vento wheel should come up a dream after seeing what can be done.

I'd reccomend getting a mixed pack of sand paper, 400/800/1200/1500/2000 or something, work your way up wetsanding, then finish with cromosol. You'll get a much better finish.

all i can say is this community is in a urgent need of a break just relaxing and riding a 10 pound bike and after that maybe stop pissing themselves on how a bike should look like and what is anti and what not.
