I think strong concerns regarding missing bar tape comes from the slippage that inevitably occurs and sometimes punishes the riders next to you

I've got even worse parts coming from Japan. Big Zen, Gold Medal Pro... might wait until Spring to fit them though, too mucky for the next few months.

I'm perfectly comfortable at the moment, apart from with heavy loads of on my back, but that stem is fairly precariously placed on the top of the steerer at the moment.

Nah man, drops for me. Bullhorns are nice but I prefer riding drops for getting places at pace.
