Send the Russell to a framebuilder and get trashed tubes replaced.
Got to be better/more unique/cheaper/more satisfactory/lighter than a Brother/Dart or whatever far east fab steel and you know it fits.....It is getting repaired but it's the beater not the tarck ;)
But does he?!?!?!?
Nope it and it doesn't
Haha
(I'm glad that when I was 16 the internet did not exist and I could ride ludicrous & back-breaking geometry without a host of arm-chair bike fitters taking the piss!)
Back then your only reference was pro-bikes in magazines and how you and your mates set up the bikes they'd long since grown out of. I was reminded of those days a few months back when I found a 150mm Eclypse stem in my shed....Well I still ride mad drop to be fair.
Well he said he's grown into the Visp at 58cm, Dave was something like 54cm top tube...
Dave was a, 59st and 54.5 TT so yeah doesn't really fit.
Really?
I would have thought that the dimensions would suit your gangly dinosaur-like body dow to the ground.
How?
Drop adds up to reach as well as length.

Pretty much man but finding a tarck worthy frame that size is hard so I'll settle for a 58 square or 60 square even.

Indra, have you considered a hybrid? Super practical and easy to dial fit in. Will be totally hot in 2014 #comingbackaround

It is lovely! If I was going with of steel I'd probably wait for the TF dart to compare prices/geo.
If I'm honest my heart is set on a parallax but my mind says no.
Yea any one know when that 2013 Dart is coming out? Was waiting for ages in the end just got some second hand alu, completely different lol

No what you need is Tonic fabrication, if only I had the money...

When I was 16 I had a clapped out mountain bike that my dad bought back from Malaysia, which weighed about 15kg. #grimupnorth

You were lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank. We used to have to get up at six in the morning, clean the paper bag, eat a crust of stale bread, go to work down t' mill, fourteen hours a day, week-in week-out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home our Dad would thrash us to sleep wi' his belt

Luxury.
I know chaps that pay good money for that

I can whole heartily recommend this idea. An ape-sized Supernaut would see you right, through your last couple years of growth and a lifetime beyond. Finding one is the only issue, though the proverbial bike for life would be a sound investment at retail.
-
• #31943
Honestly I don't like the supernaut anywhere near enough to pay $1500 dollars for one.
-
• #31944
Tonic do make 'em big though - there's a ginger bloke riding around on a rather impressive geared tonic that's approximately the size of a child's climbing frame.

If a frame for life which actually fits is the target, custom ti might be the way to go, therefore, Enigma. Don't know their prices, but start saving......

• #31946
Why would you want a frame for life when you're 16..

Or maybe Burls?
Honestly I don't like the supernaut anywhere near enough to pay $1500 dollars for one.
Have you ridden one? T'is True, at retail it certain puts it in the ball park of a more refined custom frame. I'm sure there's plenty of other options, but from personal experience it's worth considering, especially if a used one turns up....or you happen to have a lump to burn and need something sooner than a custom.
Also, good to put money into companies like tonic, similarly with any homegrown builder. -

How long do you think a frame for life would last for Indra?

Should have a frame for life as a baby, that's getting your money's worth.
