Maybe they look shit to you but that doesn't mean they're shit cranks.
-
• #27130
Cervelo t3 looks shit to me, doesn't mean I can say it's a shit frame because its well known that they're great framesets.

Fair dos but equally no reason why cant voice opinion?
:-D

• #27132
It's not opinion though, it's an assumption based on looks.
-
• #27133
No its an opinion based on looks.
I dont like over engineered utility cranks with the graphics from a shit mecha flik.
I like Kate Upton.*

When I uploaded that I didn't have the BB yet though.
-
• #27138
for how long, one day? your bb just arrived hasnt it?
-
• #27139
btw i was just taking the mick out of indra and his love for rotors. I've never ridden them and don't mind them looks wise but i'm not in love with them
7710 > rotors personally
-
• #27140
Only for a spin outside then a while on the turbo.
I haven't said they're good though, merely that by not riding them you can't comment on how good they are.
Although I see Andy is watching the thread, how you liking your rotors?

"Looks Shit" and "Are Shit" are 2 completely different things...
Base your opinions on facts / experience and you might far better in the future.
Best Cranks for riding Fixed Brakeless on the streets are:
***1. Dura-Ace 7700 / 7710 BB
Have got 3 sets of these and 1 set I have removed the arms for travel probably 30 - 40 times and they are still as good as the day I got them.Rotor 3D Track
Lighter and Stiffer than than the Dura-Ace. Simpler in design and easier to instal. I have 2 sets of these, one on my Brascona and one on my Victoire.Suntour Superbe with Shimano sealed BB
I have 2 sets of these also. both have been previously used by others before me and they are still solid even though they are approaching being older than most of you on here...Dura-Ace 7600 with a sealed BB
Still have 2 sets of these and they are bombproof.***
Why use Sugino 75's when they don't make a sealed BB and you have to use a Campy one.
Why use Omniums when the rotors are so much better in every way (Apart from looks)
Campy track look great but are more prone to stress cracks at the base of the arm than any of the cranks listed above.
If you want a crank that looks fancy get a paul crank and hang the bike on a wall... and leave it there.
I have owned all of the cranks listed above and more... so my opinion is based on experience and facts.

Imma let you finish but...
Rotors are shit?
B-)
-
• #27143
I've never been able to tell the difference between cranks. Until I had my On One external ones. Never square taper again. Never. Due to ease installation and uninstallation and due to the fact that they feel so stiff. Way stiffer than 75s

See above... if you still can't understand the answer. You are shit.

Andy, I had omniums because I couldn't afford rotors and then bought on one external BB because it couldn't afford omniums.
Between the on ones and the omniums I couldn't feel a difference at all.

Omniums are not the worst, but they are heavy and the BB wears out fast. I rate the chainrings that come with them.
-
• #27148
I'm selling a chainring if you want it :P
I liked my omniums and really can't wait to put some miles in on my rotors!
Still keeping the omniums on my heavy bike though just because they feel though, was gonna go for DA but heard a couple reports of them snapping when people abused them. -

I suppose it depends on how fat you are with regards to snapping things.
If you google any component you can probably find a fault that has happened.I've never snapped any component.

Anyone owned a zed 2 ?
Im quite happy with the omnium, even tho its more of a fixie Trend than real Track crank.
Rotor is lighter and maybe stiffer (dont think theres much it a difference) and i think the look better too :)
Never gonna happen
