Huh. Weirdly, the Rotor site does suggest a Q ring can be used fixed:

Yes. MTB Q-Rings can be used for MTB singlespeed applications. We've also successfully tested and are currently producing select models of 144 BCD Track Q-Rings.

My favourite set up since I first started riding, looks and practically speaking IMO. Guess there isn't a great need for such a huge angle/drop on the jag but I like it!
Was a silly set up for touring on though, destroyed my wrists...
