The best combo I found for myself were the Vans Authentic and those Genetic double toe clips, especially when the loop isn't right on the top of your foot;

I get this to, especially on my root foot after some skids, changing toe clips to the single hole type pretty much solved the issue.

but i got plastics now, and so the worry is gone.
