And fuck 175mm.
I changed from 165 to 172.5. Best thing ever done.

you have to lean pretty bloody far for 175mm arms to become an issue

Longer cranks wouldn't help with that and long cranks can get dangerous pretty quickly on fixed gear bikes.
Indra, longer cranks will allow for less seatpost and therefore more comfortable saddle to bars drop.
try it with some cheap ones, dont base it on assumptions. -

No it won't Martin.
Longer cranks mean knees more bent at the top of the stroke.

indra.
its not worse or better, it is just different.
as long as you are not hitting your own ribs with your knees, leave the top of the stroke out of the concern, unless there is something very wrong with your knees going on atm.
ask yourself, which moment of the revolution/stroke is the main reference point to bike fitters.eingang, stop reposting bitte.

The argument came because of the theory that longer crank = lowered saddle, which in reality is quite the opposite.

How would longer cranks not mean you need a lower saddle?
Longer cranks wouldn't help with that and long cranks can get dangerous pretty quickly on fixed gear bikes.
