If that's a show bike, there is so much wrong with it....
Considering it's a custom frame, what you consider 'wrong' has probably been considered 'right' by them. The build might not conform to everyone's aesthetic standards, but it's a really lovely frame.

Custom frame..? Excessive amount of seatpost and use of spacers.. why not build a frame 3cm taller?!

Quicksilver have heard that people are riding 'fixed gears' and they are fucking ON IT.
Directed at TM - meh, you could slam the stem if you wanted. I like the frame, I enjoyed speaking to the builders. They're a small company, so I can understand them not wanting to chop the shit out of an expensive fork if they mean to sell the bike at a later date...

spacers are inviting - 'come, chop me... you know you want to...'
on a more serious note though, more seatpost visually exposes the seat cluster. -

Quicksilver have heard that people are riding 'fixed gears' and they are fucking ON IT by building up a generic Chinese frame with generic parts

Might be 'generic' but is 100% slave.

Why get a custom frame off you're gonna have a spacer stack and a foot of seat post showing?

• #24391
maybe their reference for how a bike should be set up is this thread

Perhaps it's professional cyclists rather than hobbyists/armchair bike fitters/general allround girlsblouses & randonneurs.

or maybe, just maybe, its a showroom of a new bike, and the owner hasn't even touched it yet?
like it happens with, you know, new custom bikes most of the time? -
• #24394
maybe they did extensive wind tunnel tests and found that this way is most aero
-
• #24395
maybe a taller guy tested it in the rain and the seatpost siezed
-
• #24396
maybe they were going to run it with a positive rise stem (which as we know is better) but someone told them that looks shit so they went for spacer stack
-
• #24397
Perhaps they turned up at the show with a 27.2mm seatpost and that's as far as they can ram it into the 27.0 seat tube without splitting it
