Can you tell meet one thing please, and sorry if this will sound vulgar or something. Where do all the kids take the money for all this gear? Is that true that their parents save for a moped for them and when they say they d prefer a bike instead all this money goes torward the bike? There was a picture of this kid who looks like he's 12 with dosnoventa, enve and hed3 plus rotor cranks I think, and it really made me wonder. Thanks
Maybe like me they work and save, but with what they earn probably being lower they must work a hell of a lot harder.

I dunno I think 1000aa has a point. Even on a paper round or a Saturday job or whatever, that dos was worth a shit load. Would've had to save for aaaaaages. And ages and ages without spending anything.
-
• #23759
Yeah at least £2000
And you've already gotta take lunch and snack money away. -

So a dos Houston is well over half what the average Indonesian earns in a year...
-
• #23762
By paper I meant crack.
-
• #23763
^^^it's so you can fit a porteur rack, both hip and hop
-
• #23764

yeah, but average Indonesian doesn't exist.
I am aware these are blooming economy countries, but ffs - its over 6k worth on that particular one, how is this justified? Really looking forwards to hmdns' reply. -
• #23768
Well it does exist, even if not common you could pull out an average.
-
• #23769
by saying 'average Indonesian doesn't exist' I meant the average consists of rich and poor people...
-
• #23770
I realise, maybe I should have said 'A dosnoventa frame costs far more than than the majority of indonesian families earn in a year'
-
• #23771
why dont they get better jobs then lol
-
• #23772

I am aware these are blooming economy countries, but ffs - its over 6k worth on that particular one, how is this justified? Really looking forwards to hmdns' reply. There are alot of wealthy families in SE Asia. Rich kids get bought nice things. It's not just fixed gear, nice DH mountain bikes, nice kit, nice cars... Over there though there isn't a divide between rich and poor like there is here. I found wealthy kids and kids without money all socialise together, so I'm guessing there will be people riding unipacks alongside those riding mirrion $$$ sweet fixies.
The fact that it's such an issue for some people here demanding where these kids get their money, how they justify it etc...
Well, I've seen parents buy their kids fast cars, then pay for all the mods.... Cars cost a fortune in Asia. So if you think about it, track bikes are really quite a wholesome and affordable hobby in comparison.

It's cool that you brought up cars, I decided long ago that I'd build a badass bike instead of getting a car if I still live in a city :)

'issue'? 'demanding'?
