  • the fes fits me well with the current set-up.

however, the shorter seat/head tube is a compromise, but as a fes was always a dream for me i had to make compromises when i get the offer.

    back to bizz.

-yo eingang I got a fes for sale
-no!! no way?!?!?!? that was always my dream, ohmygawd!!!!!!
-what size are you, you like 6'2 innit?
-yeah but I can compromise I always wanted a fes
    -ok cool this is 53ctt

  • ^Echt Geil - 1000AA Du hast Rep Gewonnen

  • Wunderbar!

  • I once saw Rammstein play the Frankenstadion, site of the Nuremburg rally.
It's not a fact I'm particularly proud of, but 'du riechst so gut' did make me smile.

  • I like rammstein,
mein hertz brennt, hier kommt die sonne, good choons.

  • oh hai tim, sergio told me he spotted you the other day, why you didnt let lfgss know?

    Amerika.

Yeah I was down south for work but was one of the rare occasions I had no bike and also had no time! I'll be coming down maybe next week though for a few days (again with work) put hopefully will bring the low down to play if anyones up for a spin?

  • yeah sounds good, shout when you around

  • you both still not know the difference between bikes ridden on the street and at the velodrome, where the colnago were ridden only.

however, it doesn't fit me well (i made compromises, yes) and therefore i already sold it

Of course i know the fucking difference, stop being such a snob. especially in this thread. You ran a lo-pro with a skyward pointing stem face it. You're as much a trend hungry fixie rider as everyone else

It's not uncommon to see track bikes with upward stems you know...

Look at the guy with the Corima. That stem looks like it's in the wrong bike, but the rider's position is almost as horisontal as the rider in front (who seems to be sporting a road stem nonetheless).

Or check out Jess Varsnish's setup:

I'd say the hipster-thing to do would be using drop bars on lo-pros, because it seems rad, but is actually all kinds of wrong.
Btw every frame with a TT that slopes downward to the front is not a lo-pro. Like that Colnago or a Mash or a LOW or any of these bropros/fauxpros.

  • MTB/Hybrid stem on that Corima Cougar is an abomination.
I don't care whether the fit is right, it's also got to look good - There's much to be said for slavery over scientific bikefit bullshit.
I think I read somewhere that on one of his bikes cipolinni had to sprint on the hoods cos he couldn't reach the drops. Like a proper slave he wasn't going to have spacers or stem showing, and rightly so.
I also read a quote from Bjarne Riis who said that he'd never sit on a bike with a stem shorter than 120mm. Good man
upward stems & spacers can >>>>>>>
(HTFU, ergostem or compact drop are acceptable)
This is the way, walk ye in it

  • the corima rider would clearly benefit from one size bigger frame, so that he could still have bars in the same spot with a horizontal, shorter stem..
    but he's not hhsb!

  • I got nothing against Upwards stems on. The the stem on my lo-pro points up a tiny bit. I was just more making a point of Eigang being a bit of a snob about something he's done himself and in the same thread we see double white 'spoks and all kinds of weird shit.

  • ^Bugger, now I'll have to chuck out my 115mm stems.

Sure, in a perfect world 'slamdatstem', but in this one build something you can actually ride.

And Dakin, don't buy the Spinergy, it would look good but they're a pile of horrible flexy shite!

  • Confession.
I once had a biek where the headtube was so slack the stem looked pointy-uppy - it was a 90deg Sesamo, but it still looks a bit lame.

  • Of course i know the fucking difference, stop being such a snob. especially in this thread. You ran a lo-pro with a skyward pointing stem face it. You're as much a trend hungry fixie rider as everyone else

    you're still not getting it.
the low frame is for street riding, the colnago was for the track.
you cannot compare apples with oranges.

and as i'm an old grumpy snob: i ride track bikes since the late 80ies.

    back to hhsb.

  • ... you forgot that you can switch between pursuit and not by swapping out the cockpit.

  • For a track racing bike... Then the set up on the corima is perfectly adequate for the rider.

as mentioned, he was not a hhsb.

Smaller frontal profile / better aerodynamics.

thats just generalisation, based on assumptions - you don't know this guy aerodynamic performance/profile.

Smaller frame, generally = A lighter and more importantly; stiffer frame.

Dont think weight is his concern seeing hes using a salsa quill stem and chromoly handlebars.
Plus never heard of corimas suffering from excessive flex...

  • It's also an old photo whether Jess' recent.

  • It also look like nearly all the Olympic bike are near identical to each other in design;

  • congratulations on your experience, we were however discussing specifically the corima build...

  • Discusions like that don't belong in this thread.
