It would take something pretty big to cause you any trouble! Like Dom said, It's nothing to worry about!

Regarding pursuit bars, thinking of swapping my cheap, flat pair for some Nitto RB021 but wondering if I'll be able to ride on the flats and not just in the 'drops' since the bar slopes away either side of the stem.
Seemed like a good place to ask this question.

They've got a decent amount of flat section either side of the stem, but it depends on how wide you would like to put your hands. The sloping section isn't that comfy to use as a riding position.

RB021 are really uncomfortable riding on the sloping section and the drop is quite deep - I couldn't get along with them at all. Riding them hurt my wrists like when I've ridden track dropbars that slope away from the stem before.
Nitto have a few other less aggressive pursuit bars. I'm using the RB002 which is comfortable in any number of positions: http://www.tokyofixedgear.com/products/129-Handle-Bars---Bullhorns/2590-Nitto---RB002-Bullhorns---Black/?bc=no

With a 650c wheel?? I don't get it -

Further to Jonathan's comment, they are an incredibly uncomfortable set of bars in comparison to Nitto's standard bullhorn line up. There is almost no flat section, it slopes almost immediately, then you have the huge drop.

bullhorns with deep drops only were cool in the early mash days, until everyone realised how uncomfortable the deep drop is. i still prefer the syntace stratos 200.

^^ makes no sense. Bullhorns that cost more than the cranks. There are many other things that make no sense too but this is what stuck out for me.

not sure where else I can put this, some sort of crazy Ti street machine
Ha, I love the fact that the sweep of the bars would change when you tighten up the stem. Wut?

Ewain you seem to be on a quest for bars
what exactly are you looking for, a specific look or specs?I have the annoying problem of having very large hands, so finding a compact bar that gives me a reasonable angle to the levers when tucking in to the drops is proving to be rather difficult and expensive to boot.
A lot of compact bars have such a shallow transition from levers to ends of drops, that I can't even get my hands in to the drops properly and is bloody uncomfortable.
Last chance for a compact dimensions (125-135 drop and 70-80 reach) is the PRO Vibe 7s (anatomic or round) or the PRO Cavendish bars, after that I will have to buy another stem that's shorter so I can try bars like the Race Face Cadence or Zipp Service Course short and shallow bars.
I had 3T Ergonova bars on the MASH and loved them, but I wanted a flat transition from tops to hoods, and turning them up so they had level top gave a mahoosive drop and about a 100mm reach!
Grrr... bloody frustrating.

And after thinking I was going to struggle to find them, I popped Hubjub an email and they came straight back to me saying they have, they're just not on the website yet. Sterling work all round.

Just fitted some Record cranks, a new BB and a 44rn ring for my buddy Canadian, then headed for a great hilly but real windy ride out.
I'm liking the crank & ring combo.
He needs a decent black quill, 26.0 around 100mm. If anyone has a Pearl, Dynamic or Technomic of this description let me know.

use thicker bartape;)
seriously though - why you insist on the flat transition? half of the cases even if not perfectly flat it is half as bad as people think. -

^^ wuda been better with 7710s

Are they any good? Of the alu quills I've tried Nitto are the only ones with a semblance of rigidity....
Just had a look and they look decent.
Have to resist buying one for myself!
bit worried about getting stones court in there or something? or even some leaves getting stuck
