I want a deep carbon wheel but can't decide if it should be a front or a rear one???

Yeah same but I dont know how well one would deal with the roads around Manchester.

Here's a quick photoshop I did of a random bike (spoke patterns lol) I think I like the deep rim better on the rear........

front with shallow rear and Chubb!

deep rear looks better.

60mm at both ends.

I've never really understood the super deep against super low rim look. Only looks good on a handful of bikes I've seen.

For casual riding deep rear would be better as it's less trouble in cross winds
-

Deep/shallow combination is what I'd go for, ideally the shallow one would be less than the common 30mm but not a box rim, maybe like an Archetype or Velocity Aero rim. I considered handling in crosswinds (after I considered the aesthetics of course, this is the hhsb thread after all), which is also a good reason to go with a rear one. Trouble is though as I run a front brake I'll be stuck with an ugly silver braking surface :/

808 on the front, forever

Ok, this thread is none of my business, I'm old! But, the deeper the section up front, the more you'll get blown about. The rear doesn't matter because your fat arse will keep it steady. The deeper the rim section, the stiffer the wheel will be in general, so it's more likely your fillings will be shaken loose by crap road surfaces. On the other hand, deeper rims are generally more aero and will be faster on the flat. They also weigh more and are slower to accelerate.
Oh, and deep sections look better on the back, but that's my view, you decide!

Hey sorry if the picture doesn't work.
Inspired from the spok on the page before.
Definitely horrible but would like to see someone do it in the flesh. -

Have you seen a chainring that goes under the rear tyre, but over the chainstay and rim? Now you have. You're welcome.
