I like that Look a lot. But now I see it; whatsup with the rear clearance..?
Ideas on optimal aerodynamics differ over time. The Team GB olympic bicycles also had forks with a lot of clearance to the wheel so I guess this is a current trend.

aero blah blah
look again, its a LOW
-
• #16329
He's talking about the LOOK? Regarding the GB bikes i seem to remember they had wider forks to direct air away from the riders legs (not sure if that's right)

• #16330
oh dear, stupid me.
carry on, nothing to see there -
• #16331
how ugly can you make compact bars
Think it's only ugly when you don't have brake levers on it.
Mind you I liked this compact drop on the extremely clean cinelli (compared to the others);

Readers wifes Slave in the making:
So so good. What are you planning for it?
Don't forget my dibs if it doesn't work out that frame is da boom ting.
-
• #16333
^ Haha, thanks Tom!
Sumo got first dibs I'm afraid, you're second. Gotta be quicker next time :)Plan is: Black high flange Mack hubs (unless someone wants to trade those for small flange) to some sort of black rims, A23 probably, spotter bars and levers, not sure about the stem and seat post yet. Flite is a must.

Dibs if you sell...
I thought I was on the ball... Well, sumo seems to keep his bikes for even less time than me, so I'll dibs his dibs...
Plan sounds good., frame is a beaut. Not tempted by risers or pursuit bars?
-
• #16335
True, sumo is quick on both fronts.
Risers : Yes, might nick 100 mm -17 Thomson and Nittos from Brooklyn for it. In that case seatpost choice would be easy.
Pursuit : No -

will see, it might be not a bad idea.

throw back slaves
TM just thought about how many frames have passed through your mitts this year. Personally i think the fort was the nicest, pitty it was to big
-
• #16339
^Na wayyyyyyyyyyy. Panasonic all day every day.
-
• #16340
Fort was indeed special.
Panasonic is just another (very)NiceJapShit frame.
-
• #16341
How many logos can you get on one bike?
Honestly. Good way to ruin a nice, sought after frame IMO.
-
• #16342
If Mash-talk, then i say this "old" build is still pretty much the best i've seen.
Except I would've taken the photo correctly.

I never said it was special, it is just the nicest frame TM has had this year in my opinion.

Condor is the nicest, and best riding, despite the epic head tube.
The Fort was great, so was the mash, I'm really liking the Orlowski though, and have some nitto pursuit bars coming for it so will see how it rides with a "proper" set up, its a bit of a pig with the risers innit.
Panasonic is super nice, and super stiff, but I'm selling it as I can't justify keeping it. -
• #16346
Condor would be my choice too.
It's not the risers on Orlowski but a combo of that stem and risers, anything else would work better for me. Sorry. Just one little thing and it's perfect. -
• #16347
Condor is my fave with the orlowski a close 2nd and the fort a close 3rd. Having said that I haven't seen a bike you've owned that I haven't liked (apart from the bmx...) ALL HAIL THE KING OF THE SLAVES.
-
• #16348
I do miss the Fort too... would have it back in a flash.
-
• #16349
The Condor is godly..
I am very jealous of all your bikes TM

I like that Look a lot. But now I see it; whatsup with the rear clearance..?
Slamming the wheel is not the most aerodynamic position .. When a wheelset turns turbulence is created and a greater distance would allow more room for this to pass, resulting in lesser stalled air streams which create drag on the wheel. If I remember correctly Look did a study and published to providing an optimum distance.
On the team GB forks the wider blades are a: to direct air as identifed and b: to improve flow as per the above reason
Sorry .. That's all out of context for the thread !
