Yeah so I'm sure this has come up before but can someone explain to me the advantage of downward sloping top tubes on bikes that aren't actually low-pros?
is it a disadvantage?

They fill the gap between drop and flat bar.
ie. 'rideable' pursuit. (Don't let the purists hear you say it)

Low need to up their game man, can't be that hard to get hold of decal free Alpina's.... so many decals gives me headache >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
also underwhelming build. Decals on rims, FSA chainring, silver headset/spacers, boring black stem, ugly seatpost, colour coordinated tye... at a bike show!?
i was surprised at it having such a squared off tyre if it was a show bike, i get the whole show it as being used for that 'authentic' feel but the rest of the bike looks brand new
Was this actually a show bike though? or just happen to be at interbike and prolly shot it?

But such frames don't appear to be any different at the headtube - the top tube just starts higher up on the seatpost.
Is it purely an aesthetic thing?

The headset is lower than classic road geo.
(Not as low as a OG low po tho)
^Painful.

Depends on how you buy one as the customer, you could buy one with the same size HT as you normally ride making the ST higher and less post shown or you could buy one with your standard size ST making it a bit of a drop

Classic, faux, compact.

Love your vitus/janssen so much, did you have it set up with deep carbonza while back?

No, not worth dropping money on. Cheap as build. Ta.

But if the top tube starts higher up the seatpost that makes it a bigger frame.
At the end of the day, the point of Lo-Pro geo. is to get bars down low making you more aero.
Top tube needn't slope downward, provided saddle-handlebar distance is the same as you'd have on your road bike, and the flat of a pair of bulls is at the same level as your roadbike drops with the stem slammed (Tester Test).
This can also be achieved with a horizontal normal length top tube and super-short c-c on the seattube. Effective geo. is still the same, but no slope - this is essentially the opposite of a faux-pro...

my low got 55tt and 55st both center to center. 13cm headtube. A classic track frame of that size would have something like 16 or 17, to have level toptube. It is a tad bit lower than square geo classic frame, but perfectly ridable for long rides.
And of course it is for aesthetics. We've hand long enough seatposts for decades now.

I like my downward sloping TT. :(
It may serve no practical reason whatsoever other than looking cool, I still like it.
with Negaatio on this, even if his bro-pro is nicer than mine

Seeing as LOW//s are made to order/semi custom could you not ask for one with a much more sloping TT?

Surely that forks been damaged? The tyre and downtube are actually touching?

Or maybe the owner runs 23/25mm when it was actually built for 18-20mm.

Built for 18-20 tubs and running 25c clinchers probs
^ Like it. Slide the saddle back and it's a win.
