Sorry guys, work commitments make this a big no no for me!

  • ^that's what I'm talking about. Good man
    Bernie you have my number

Good man Si. Which contingent will you be gracing with your company?

  • i'm in for the ride. looking forward to this, the last ride to oxford was great. running doesn't appeal. see you at tooting broadway at 4. i'll catch up on sleep when we're on a straight road.

PM coming for your records bernie.

    Doh, sorry Si.

You are down with the Tooting massive.

  • i'll see you at Tootin' like a highfalutin Rasputin.

  • today I tried out strapping the drain-rod and brush to the bike - worked perfectly, with the brush over my front wheel acting as a crud scraper! Just thought, if Hats finds it a bit too much to carry all the rods/brushes...

  • Haha, almost like your bike is designed to be a chimney sweep’s bike! How many rods/brushes do you have in total?

I am going to take the Oxford Tube instead of the train (too paranoid about delays), and aim to be in Oxford for about 8.30. See you all there!

Bernie – you have my number/email already.

Ian, just what I was thinking! If we meet up before the ride, we can distribute rods, and I can place a bulk order for brush heads. One less thing that Hats has to worry about, on her journey down to Oxford.

As it is at least 10 minutes since we had a list.

    Brush head bulk order list....

  • Not for the first time, the generosity of spirit of this place, has blown me away.

I mentioned to Bearfoot our attempts to source brushes. He could not find suitable ones, for what he thought was a reasonable price, so, he decided to make some!

Not one, but a total of six. Therefore, we will have these, plus Ian's version, so I suspect we are all sorted.

Thanks again Billy, and if you can join us on the ride, that would be absolutely brilliant.

  • @bernie

just went to look up Ryo, jct of Berwick/Glasshouse but couldn't find it.

No worries, I am sure you will have the courage and fortitude to suffer a cheeky little Japanese beer.

The fund raising is starting to gather pace. We have a plan, a team, and a bunch of brushes. All we now need is to implore all our friends and colleagues to be generous, for this most worthy of causes.

Now with full details in with the list.

  • I just got an email from the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign saying that David Cameron was wishing us luck with this. Well, not us personally.

Also, apparently the course is one of the "fastest and most scenic in the UK". They might revise the "fast" statement after I've run it.

  • i'll be jogging it..

i've also got my kids school fun run in regents park on sat 19th may.. as i am the broom for this, chimney sweep outfit will be most apt..

    Well spotted Hats.

AND the fact that there are still spaces for anyone who wants to run.

My business partner agreed that we could approach the firm's contacts and clients, and we have had an amazing response to the fund raising plea sent out today.

Hats, any chance that you could add the Oxford Mail picture to the just giving page?

  • Sure, do you have a jpeg of the picture? If you email it to me I'll add it row the page.

Amazing how much response there's been today. Lovely generous people :)

I managed to copy it from the Oxford Mail. I will ask them if they have any other snaps, they might be willing to release to us.

  • On that note if anyone wants my place to run- let me know.
I'm really quite gutted, but this is all part of growing up I guess.
If I was still in Oxford, I'd have no reservations- its a great run.

  • My fundraising is going well - I'll be adding in donations early next week. I make organic cider and a few bottles of that as an inducement to sponsorship seems to be working - the charity version of bartering ...
