  • john said yorgo's team is called poloroid

  • Cocorico are Hugo, Jo, and Marc

  • Oops, yeah, Cocorico... yikes.

  • For anybody coming to the show tommorow (thursday) to play throwins:

It would be great if you could make it in before 10am (show opens), so we can hit the ground running.
If you can bring an old mallet that would also be good - we're running a few public sessions.

    thanks!

  • Bring them along too then if possible?

    I'm not coming.
I can give them to Nic / Erin tomorrow.

  • but really i do not want to go back to Spain, with a trophy and a load of Golden virginia i won't smoke

Don't worry, the DFL trophy is really light

  • wooden spoon

  • Ok, I have no idea at all where the 3 LPC banners are, and I would very much like to see them on display at the LII. Please help!

  • I have none (I think), maybe one.

They are in the LPC box under the Orwell (I think). There is some tournament stuff in there too. Brand new polo balls, many plates and cups, clipboards, and some stopwatches and whistles; though they aren't 'Chidley' standard (as codified in APC).

  • Ah! Who has access?

  • It's a cardboard box, even cats could find their way inside.

  • HA AHA HA. I'm sorry.

I don't know, but Nick at the Orwell usually lets us in upon request.

Madam, you should be on the stage.

  • we're picking up the goals/scoreboards etc from the orwell this afternoon, will get the lpc banners too.

and don't worry, we've ordered (and recieved) £40 of 'Chidley' standard reffing equipment specially. woop!

  • Two things:

    1. The only Chidley standard I had been previously been aware of was the general rule of thumb that you should allow 2 bottles of wine per Chidley per meal.

    2. If you insist on using my surname, can you not put it in quotes? It's creepy.

  • Chidley

    What about backticks.

But yes, we will be at the Orwell shortly, and will take as much useful stuff as we can.

i'll certainly try to be there for 10am josh. Will bring a few mallets.

  • Just a quick one about marking the court - Cam mentioned something about getting builder's line, so that we can mark straight lines (centre line & goal lines). This would be really good, also can we make sure that the goals are centred, and that the back of the goal is at least 2m from the back boards?

  • Yep, we've got some sweet flyers (by Adrienne) with basic polo rules, history and a bit about the lhbpa (pointing them towards the site to see where we play).

Nothing specifically on beginners I'm afraid, but there will be people around to inform anyone who asks.

what are times/locations of the beginner sessions these days? so we know what to say. thanks!

Beginners is still Tuesdays, 7 o'clock at the 5th floor of Peckham multistorey carpark, with some weekend sessions arranged every now and then. What would need to be stressed is for people to join the forum and check the thread before going, as it's number dependent (especially in winter). It should be on next tuesday, but my feeling is it will need to warm up a bit before we get fresh beginners.

Beginners 'business card' style handouts would be useful, not just for the tournament but in general, for when people ask about it at regular sessions. Nothing flashy, just the times, location, and link to the thread.

    Also known as chalk line.

  • who is up for throw ins tomorrow? I think i can make it for 12.

    1. B (12pm)
  • Yeah, it would be good to have a "busy area" all day, in from 8am (Joe's in tomorrow too).

  • Josh (Tree) is in too, right? Can't see him getting out of bed before midday tbh... Rik is aiming for a midday arrival as well...

  • slackers!!
