Right, so, who's going to the audition? Mine is at 10am next Saturday but I've got to say I'm pretty unimpressed with the administration of this so far- the number of times emails have been incorrect or had incomplete information which then gets contradicted, rubbish. The waiver is bollocks too, and I got a load of emails last week about an audition for the paralympic opening ceremony and then moany ones when I didn't turn up.
Anyway, gonna take my fixie I think.. -

Anyone got the form they sent to you, as i got an audition! =)

I'm working on the theory that the emails they've been sending out so far are an initiative test or an attempt to see how one copes with ambiguity and contradiction.
But I think I'm supposed to turn up somewhere out in the wilds of east London on 3 March. Will bring my forum cap... Looking forward to partaking in the great human cycling pyramid.

I'm guessing they are going to be screaming 'DAS!': 'You will be provided with, and briefed on how to use, personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of adjustable elbow pads and knee pads. You are required to bring your own bike and helmet. Please ensure you wear this equipment correctly at all times. If any of the PPE becomes damaged, please let us know so we can provide a replacement. Cycling is a potentially dangerous activity. Riding of any bike within the 3 Mills site is strictly prohibited and no riding should be done unless instructed to during auditions.'
(form just arrived)

I'm increasingly thinking that that BBC2 comedy programme got it right...
My answer was to print, sign, photograph, email. I assume something postmarked before 5pm, Tuesday would be fine; it's just a waiver after all.

Done:-) cheers for the guidance!
I'll also wear my forum cap. If its warm enough I'll probably be in a vest (as normal).
Upper body strength- Pah!

I had been getting a bit sick of all the emails so I'm actually a little bit glad I'm not doing this any more... though I'm sure I'll change my mind once I see all the cyclists on the telly!

^That's a good idea, I sent them an email stating that I accept the conditions of the waiver and I will bring a hard copy on the day. Might follow up with a photo of the signed form.

Christ. They don't make it easy do they? It's almost like they don't want volunteers
-

I emailed and said I'd take it with me on the day, they said that was fine. The shambles so far makes me think it'll not be a challenge to turn up on the day and say you emailed it and no-one will know otherwise.

I enjoyed the confirmation email
(PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO PARKING)
Looks like I will need to go on my bike then.

But then you won't be able to park it anywhere!

Just read the rest of the email (it's a bit tl;dr)
TRANSPORT – Please come by public transport.* The nearest tube is Bromley-by-Bow. (The nearest accessible stations are Stratford or West Ham) There is NO parking available at 3 Mills.

"In the audition you will be put through a variety of activities to assess your attributes and it is important that you wear comfortable clothing and footwear that will not restrict your movement."
We're not going to have to dance are we? I can do standing at the back with my arms folded. Although a bit of tap in SPDs might do the trick...

Hmmm... Doing things in SPDs is going to be fun...

Hmmm... Doing things in Speedos is going to be fun...
I don't think it is compulsory but each to their own.

I expect you to be in one too!

Morning Volunteers!
Time to crack open those crusty eyes, move those aching bone and shake out the last of last nights booze.
Time to start getting our bikes ready, pump those tyres, get your chainline straighter than last night lines.
Ive had to have a wheel built for me last night, struggled to find the right length valves and finally decided that the rough pub bike is my choice of locomotion this morning.
10 am start!
