Well I've applied, it might be a laugh, and might get to some events, or get my nearest and dearest into the the ceremonies/events.

Have applied for it too. Looks like it'll be the only way I'm ever going to see in the stadium in person before it falls into ruin/used for a footie pitch, so why not. I'm guessing we'd be unrecognisable in the get-ups not to have to worry about the Lycra fest it'll be...

we will all have to build the ultimate anti-porn bikes for this

******FURTHER NEWS FROM BC REGARDING MALE-ONLY THING:
**"Thanks to everyone who has so far applied to be involved in the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games. To clarify, both male and female applicants are encouraged to apply and we would like to apologise if there was any confusion on this in our last issue. If you are an experienced cyclist and think you have what it takes, send your application before Monday's deadline to the link above."Neither BC or the Olympic bods responded to my email but this snippet was in the BC member news sent out today. Seems they've taken some flak... (although I still reckon they want men only but can't advertise like that)

I remember the hurdles that we had to jump over in the NHS to recruit Urdu speaking female sexual health advisors for a very specific community project.
The lengths that we had to go to in order to prove that we weren't being sexually or racially discriminating were incredible. It took three months to get approval to run the advert in the end.
