OK, quick question, has anyone done any digging through the Census data to get info on the number of households with a car in each borough?
If you have, could someone let me know the numbers for Wandsworth and Merton?
I had a very quick look, but I can't find the answers to the relevent question, and thought that I'd ask so as not to duplicate work if I didn't have to.

Cyclists jump red lights and ride across the pavement, but so what? **Cyclists are pedestrians really, since they are leg-powered. **They've just added a few levers and cogs to improve their own efficiency.
This viewpoint is pretty much what my theory that people don't see cyclists as a road user but a peds that's happen to be on the road.

thanks MM, theres a new guy in charge in cowcross st.
really cool, and German, knows the score.Ha, ha, I've only just decoded this. For a moment there, I took it at face value without realising that you must be referring to the new(ish) Sustrans London director, German Dector-Vega, in which 'German' is just the Spanish version of 'Herman' and pronounced with a 'ch' as in 'Loch'. German is indeed a very good guy. :)

Is this campaigning?
http://www.lfgss.com/thread100244.htmlIt's scaremongering.
@LCC people do you not want to promote cycling? -

Guadalajara Critical Mass and "White Bikes" schemes. I prefer the White Bikes term, much more than Ghost Bikes.

Yes! The latest census figures are out and Hackney's are pretty good:
http://cyclelondoncity.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/in-hackney-more-people-who-travel-to.html
Also on Hackney:
http://cyclelondoncity.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/why-has-boris-johnson-let-westminster.html
There's still a lot of work to do, but we're getting there.
Islington isn't half-bad, either.
A good number of East London fixie-skidders will have contributed to that, so keep converting your friends!
Really happy right now. As I said, there's always more work to do, so join us if you're keen:

This is what the Kingsland High Street (A10) looks like. Great stuff. Need to start a 'Hackneyise' London campaign as Buffalo Bill suggested.

bike blog on cycling infrastructure and the Get Britain Cycling Parliamentary Inquiry..
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/bike-blog/2013/feb/06/cycling-infrastructure-ignored-little-changeMakes for interesting reading..
Does anyone have the numbers or know where I can find the numbers for deaths and injuries related to: pedestrians and traffic; recreational sport - running, tennis, football, rugby etc.
I'm trying to think of ways to show how safe cycling is in relation to other "normal" activities, and other sporting activities..
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated..
^ think J means new Regional Director for Sustrans in London
