Lounge refurb underway, ran cables for speakers and projector: oops forgot about the position of the light, might be quite in the way of a beam. Has anyone seen a monitor arm that folds like a TV mount? Trying to keep it as discrete as possible which why I wanted to mount up high and not chase a plug in half way up the wall (arguably a plug in the ceiling is weirder).
Or get the sparks to move the light? Seems a bit extreme and might look strange.

we're doing a bit of work on our house at the mo which includes a new downstairs toilet which means a new bit of stud wall opposite the chimney breast in the dining room.
I'm planning on building a shelf on the inside of the bathroom so I can hide a projector behind the inside face of the wall with an opening for the lens, and I'll run the cables through the stud and under the floor so I can attach it to a speaker system and games console in front of the chimney breast.
I'll stick a Chromecast in the back and
assume I can just run an HDMI cable for games consoles etc? should I also run a set of phono leads as well? -

Maybe run Ethernet too just incase?

Definitely Ethernet too, if you’re already putting cables through

hmmm, what's the reason for the ethernet cable?
I don't think the projector i was looking at even has an Ethernet port...
I was going to buy a cheapish (£250) projector for now because I'm not sure how much it'll actually get used, then look at upgrading later if required. -

Because you can, I think, send HDMI down Ethernet with a converter, or hook your Chromecast up to it, again with an adaptor, or stream to some kind of raspberry pi Plex client, should you wish to in future. Mainly because it's easy to route and might be a pain to do it in future if you discover you want it. Just a thought though. Any particular model you're looking at? I still haven't bought one but now have all the cabling in place.

fair enough!
I've been looking at projectors on Amazon in the £200-300 range, but haven't purchased yet.
they all look pretty similar spec wise, so I'll likely go for the one with the best reviews and brightest lamp I guess?
no clue really, probably need to read up a bit more!
was hoping to avoid the need to dive into the murky depths of any AV forums...
I could tidy the cables up a little buy they are mainly visible from the left hand side if you stand on the sofa, so can’t be bothered.
