Thats just how rotor ring look. You have 3 options for mounting, as they arent circular.

^ that's just boring! I like a good old school drillium but all that real estate on the rear mech and all they did was drill it. Such a lost opportunity, they could so easily have done an "ace of clubs" design ..

Nah it's good, wonder how much weight al those holes safe.

Not a lot I'd say .. Think it's more a nod to drillium they went for then weight.

If you take each of those big holes as 5mm dia, depending on the Aluminium used in the mech manufacture that's approximately 0.6 grams saved ..

aio, so here is my drillium work - very heavy scoperformance frame - started od 1980gram - finish - 1730grams - drilled, paint and cable catchers(sorry for my english:P) is removed.

I did a bit a research as I have a modified Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear derailleur I will sell on eBay and I wanted some decent word-search background for the listing

anyone added flutes to a modern seatpost? anything in particular to be wary of? I plan on just copying an old one I have, but the new seatpost will be much longer than any fluted posted I can find.
