  • Private mobile use cubical.

  • Work wank room.

  • Log cabin.

  • Isn't loo from "l'eau"?

  • I heard it was from gardez l'eau or something like that, which people shouted when they were emptying their chamber pots out of the window.

  • In shit coffee shops etc....
    'Can I get ....'

A kick in the whiskers? Yes...yes you can.

  • They can have fucked, sorry, get fucked that's what they can do.

Please could I have a hit from the bong?

Doesn't have the same ring to it...

  • Rest room? I suppose you can have a nice sit down.

  • Ah, but they are allowed, as they are Americaniun and stoners.......

They can 'get' mars bar from the gas station anytime they want

  • And their Mars bar would have almonds in it!! (or something)

  • I've changed my mind, actually I think 'Please may I have a...hit' would be much better.

  • My life dream is to open a poncey cafe just so when people say 'Can I get a...' I can say 'No you can't [long pause] but I will get it for you.'

  • I thought it was just a shortening of lavatory, which is of course yet another "wash room" euphemism. I've never really understood the idea that euphemisms are to be avoided anyway. I think their origins are often really interesting.

  • FWIW I can understand euphemisms for traditionally "taboo" subjects like toilets, sex etc.

But when it comes to things like "downsizing" for "sacking all our staff" and that type of corporate or political shite, I hate it. And I'm a copywriter for a marketing agency who spends a lot of time trying to persuade people to avoid it.

  • A reprisal of one of the first jokes I ever knew :)

    Reprisal/reprise.

  • Just got an email (from the director of HR) with "all be it cold" in there.
How do I go about telling her it's "albeit"?
Or do I just "bone apple tea" this?

  • Print screen, open in paint, circle error and draw further attention to it with bright colours and rude words, email picture file.

  • There was half a dozen simple spelling mistakes too, which I let slide but the "all be it" part really pissed me off.
Luckily it was an off topic email to the running club, nothing important or relevant to the organisation.

  • Tell them to J og on

  • Ha!

  • Blind everyone.

  • "escalate up " sounds wrong.

    Is it ?
