They might not come with some of the clear rubber sleeves but some people don't use them anyway. Probably a good idea to look at someone with Nokon and see what bits they used compared to the extension kits. I've ordered a 40cm extension if you want to see exactly what's in there
Any update on the nokon extension kit?
Ordered a 40cm kit as well but not sure if I need anything else other than the inner wire?

It doesn't come with the clear rubber tubes that stop it rubbing/rattling against the frame and I think the normal kit might come with some ferrules too (but they aren't essential. I just hooked up a front brake (with a drop lever) using only the 40cm extension and a separate cable inner. It came with loads of spare of the black cable liner too.

Has anyone got the knowledge, tools and ability to set up (possibly bleed?) hope hydraulic brakes at Downs tomorrow? I'll pay you in tinnies...
if you not got this done yet and going to the north/south thing I'm sure someone from Hebden Bridge could help you with that.

what's the biggest rear sprocket available, the ones you put on a cassette type hub with the spacers ?
-
• #412
You can get 36, IIRC.
-
• #413
You could take a cassette apart, and cassettes go as big as 36t or something daft.
-
• #414
You should be able to buy the individual cogs though?
I might even have a cassette that comes apart with a 36 (might even be 38?!) on it... If that's what you want Kev?
Oh and ha! Beat you too it J :)

Are White Industries freewheels still the best?
-
• #416
Best for what? They area easily serviceable and well sealed with a moderate number of clicks but there are others that are cheaper with much more clicks and adequate sealing, WI freewheels are fairly heavy in comparison to others too.

What if you need a 19t or 20t?
-
• #418
There are a few companies making 30t chainrings in 104bcd too or go sram spiderless down to 26t chainrings, or bmx cranks?
WI freewheels ain't all that in my opinion, so if 18t suits there are other options like the Echo ones I posted, if you need more teeth on the freewheel then WI is probably your best bet but it's no the best freewheel going if you're trying to get faster pickup.

^ Echo SL 108 has 108 poe
Gt Ratchet Freewheel has 120 poe
Looks like only 18t tops though. -

I'm happy with the V!Z 72 from tartybikes which is a little less money but again only in 16-18t.

Once you get above 50, does the number really make any difference?
I've got 175 cranks, that makes for a circumference of a little over a metre, which divided by 50 POE means the most I'll have to move my cranks to engage is 2cm, with the likely average being below 1cm. With 120 POE, it becomes less than 5mm... Would I notice the difference in engagement between one and half a cm?
I should probably admit to having a cheapi shimano freewheel, which IiRC has 18 POE?

Looks like only 18t tops though. The GT looks the same as the £50 BLB ones (that stupid 8 pin removal). I have one of the BLB ones and it was nice for a while but it's been a bit shitty recently. Would probably go WI for ease of service when it dies.

I didn't like the shimano ones after having a clicky token one. It's probably reasonably difficult to notice the difference between 108 and 120 or whatever, but you can definitely feel the difference of any of them over the shimano ones.

Yeah I was saying that 50 and above is equally good, but separately admitting that I use something shitty and I'm sure changing from what I've got will be noticeable.
But above 50 or so POE you should probably look at build quality and other factors over POE.
