  • well it's winter which would be a lovely time of year to get them cotton mix jerseys out and cycle to brighton. i have a few people interested and we're thinking of going on the 29th (thursday) of this month.

as always with the previous rides, it's just a nice social cycle, not a race. And, you don't NEED a vintage jersey but, again, if you have one, wear it.

you may have seen that i posted this already in classifieds like a douche, sorry. also just to avoid any confusion about the word wintage, it's there on purpose, i was trying to be awful clever. winter-vintage. eurgh. again, i'm an idiot. sorry

  • oh and wool mix jerseys as skully pointed out. if anyone has winter jerseys for sale, please post them. some people may need one, i think i do.

  • £40 size 42/3

one or two very light marks from wearing once for 2 hrs since new. So cheap to factor in a dry clean
label says 'fibra acrylica 100%' the name is in felty moleskin stuff, very plush

  • but ben wont you be wearing this on the ride ?

  • tempted but got family over

  • also Major Taylor has oodles of nice ones at Broadway Market Schoolyard on Saturday which i think she said will be her last day there before going away for the festive period. Mostly around the £18 mark

  • Time to get the L'eroica jersey collection out along with the shoes/bags/caps and helmets.

  • Bums. Got to work over christmas/new year. Would be well up for this otherwise

If 50 people sign up for the ride we could put in £2 each and get one of these corkers.
According to the listing they're "MAINLY PLAIN AND MULTICOLOURED"....

Also "THESE ARE COOL AND RETRO"

But best of all "THE CONDITION WILL BE GENERALLY VERY GOOD, BUT YOU MAY GET THE ODD ONE HERE AND THERE THAT NEEDS A GOOD SCRUB."

Dibs one with yellow tidemarks around the armpits.

  • i saw them! i was thinking of suggesting the same thing. i don't mind getting an 'orrible one if it's only £2.

  • Got some here for ya'll as well. Probably not vintage pre the 1980s with all that neon. But you'll sure stand out!

  • who is in?

  • ^ maybe, depending on work schedule/backlog

  • I'm in..... need a wintage jersey though. Oh, and working till 2am the night before, so may need pulled up the hills.

  • haha! do you want one of those bike chairs that kids have?

  • too bad i live at the finish line

  • ^ lucky you. Train in to London and ride home!

  • oooo, good idea

  • Jake it is a no-brainer, if i'm back in london count me in..
Jacob have you got a route in mind?, are we going fixed?
over ditching beacon?, fish, chips, beer in brighton??

    A

  • how old do you have to be?

  • old enough for your parents to allow you a trip to london with your bike on your own and riding the mean city streets, then on to the wilderness roads through surrey and east sussex

  • Jake PM sent, have a read and get your parents to read it too, please.
    happy to have you along.

  • So Almac68, you're in?

    Jakethesnake?

Also - Almac - fixed..... over dithchling beacon??? are you mad? has anyone done such a thing? .... would anyone want to ???

Perhaps it was more a one or the other kind of thing?

anyway, Jacob won't be riding fixed unless someone buys him another wheelset. I won't be riding fixed as I've been up those hills before(not the beacon). I'll be riding my 10 speed heavy bastard old falcon.

As far as a route goes I don't know what Jacob is planning.....

I haven't gone over the beacon before and to be honest I don't know how much I'm going to want to 4 days after stuffing my face full of turkey, port and cheese. (I say 4 days.... I'll probably be doing the same on the 28th)

    ;)
