The Browns bike looks like its got a fairly cheap Dolan frame and certainly can't work out why it would cost anywhere close to THAT money. 0_o
Has anyone actually been insane enough to by one?! -

I just bought 3 of them, thanks for the heads up.

"Aero shaped tube with a weight of only 9.8kg". Only 9.8 eh?.
'Touring bike' but no eyelets. For credit card touring I presume.

...because at a certain level of wealth, the difference between £500 for a snowboard and £5000 is totally negligible. Much like the £?.99 price point for the rest of us, it's just not a significant enough sum to care. So why not just pay the extra: it should be better and functionally costs no more.
This is why OWS et al have legs.

If I were to considering buying anything as expensive as this I would, at the very least expect the advertising copy to be free of spelling mistakes. What is this 'sophisticated breaking technology'? I note that my own relatively cheap machine hasn't broken yet.
Nowt wrong, it's an Aluminium frame.

- Stupid saddle
- Carbon aero wheels

They'll get loads of press, a bunch of traffic to their website and they don't have to pay a thing. Stop talking about it now.. but you can't can you?
Shit, I'm going to price my new designer bike at £50k just for the press coverage.

I'm willing to sell my much better steel tourer for only £25k.
Now that I've put a price to each, does that make it the most expensive? No.
Something is only worth that which someone else would pay for it. No-one in their right mind is going to part with £11k for that monstrosity.

Perhaps there are some rich fools out there? The rest of the tat on that site suggests this is the case.
Just think what you could get if you were in the market for an unlimited budget rohloff belt drive tourer
-
• #41
Just imagine how much they would charge for a custom made bike.

I'd definitely hit it, looks like great fun to ride around town on. Seems like it is only worth about £1,500 though

0r the 17k Chanel
**The Chanel bike aims to impress with very fine detail, like the quilted leather handles, seat (made by the legendary Brooks Brothers), pant guard, even the bike pump is covered in Chanel’s signature quilted leather. The bike also features two quilted flap bags and a jewelry roll behind the seat, all of which are detachable and can be used as individual shoulder bags.
