£50 on eBay - wash in the washing machine on cold wash (whatever) and apply new layer of wax (£7). Like new.

As nice as this jacket is, its not a serious outdoors jacket meant for field sports

not buying it now. would have left it at my folks as leaving their house in winter means you get muddy from dogs/landrovers/farmyards/carrying wet things. i have a cheap heavy thornproof with a lining but this would have been ideal for walking the dog/chopping wood/general walking about.

ah cheers for providing the alternatives EEI. good one.
It can be used for outdoor work. Its exactly the same quality/thickness as my working Barbour, only missing the poachers pocket. I doubt most people on here will actually be using it when shooting...

I have this exact jacket in this exact size, but I am 5'9" and of medium build. The colour is called Rustic, which starts dark brown - almost black - and becomes more russety as the wax dries/ wears off. Either I've got freakishly long arms, or you must have a lot of exposed wrist as the sleeves are just long enough for me... Or maybe you have the proportions of a T-Rex. Really nice autumn jacket with waist adjustment and plenty of pockets. Perfect jacket for the damp autumn and winter months, wherever you live. Anyone who bemoans the wearing of waxed jackets outside of the Shire is a tedious pedant.

To be honest, now I wish mine had a hood. It's totally backwards to use one in rain without a hood. Goretex jaket would do a better job :-)
Those actually make loads of sense if you have a dog and a proper park/forest nearby, because they're thorn proof. Also good if you drag yourself on all fours in the rain through some shrubs in Victoria Park after having too much ketamine..

Not sure Barbour market towards horses, but it's a fair point.

Er, hello?! Their client list consists of all the subscribers of "Horse and Hound" as well as "Buggery Bi-Monthly", some football fans and Danny Dyer...
