You should move to Australia.
Fuck off, we're full.
At least, we've relied on immigration so long to prop up our economy (so we can continue handing over all our bounty to the corporations of course), that we've vastly outstripped our woeful lack of ability to provide infrastructure to our populace; no time to govern effectively, there's way too much corruption to get done.

There's a yoghurt eyeing me balefully every time I open the fridge. It went out of date about a year ago. I probably shouldn't try and eat it.

Another year and you might come home to Greenpeace chained in front of your fridge.

Another 2 months for a fucking neurologist appointment.
Who needs middle age when you can just plough yourself into the road and tick off a bunch of damage instantly?

My hair is getting very thin (the stuff on my head anyway). Visited a new barber the other day as I couldn't be bother with the schlep down to see my usual lot, they went shorter than I would have liked which really exposes the issue. I'm thinking it's time for it all to go soon.
I have a Wahl Super Taper. Is it possible to get a decent cut doing it solo with that? Or any recommendations for another clipper that will make the job easier?

Just DIY, I've been cutting my own (what's left of it) for twenty plus years. I've got a Wahl SS2L, does a great job.
Answering your question, the Super Taper will be great but very awkward if you're going solo. Lighter is better and the narrower blade on an SS2L or similar makes life easier too.

+1 for Wahl here.

I use a Wahl for my face hair. When I used to get haircuts, I made some comment about my beard looking weird after a haircut and the barber was like "I can take that off for you" and it was so fast I bought a set of the same clippers for myself. No more shitty battery operated beard trimmers. 240V or GTFO!

Yeah mine are mains - fuck batteries. They work well enough on the face, although I might even start wet shaving again for the full Elmer Fudd aesthetic.

You'd need an extension lead to get that from the nearest socket to in front of the bathroom mirror...
(I know. We've covered this before.)

Another Wahl user here for > 20 years.
Wahl Colour Pro for the past 4 or so. The combs it comes with are coloured, which makes it easier for middle-aged eyes to not pick the wrong one & end up looking like a toilet brush.
The (lithium ion) battery is good for 3+ cuts, and that's fannying around cutting, with tapering & all that nonsense. Cables are a pain to deal with.

You'd think people who lived on this soggy mess of an island would understand water and electric enough to cope with sockets in bathrooms but no.

Mine won't need replacing in a few years with dead batteries either Captain Landfill.

Don't pork chickens!

I just use a US->UK adapter and plug my clippers into the shaver socket (which are perfectly allowed in UK bathrooms).

I was going to install a secret 240V socket but I haven't done anything. I just use an extension lead still.

Who has time for cables? Life's too short.
-
• #3448
Extension cable.
-
• #3449
So are cables too often
-
• #3450
I used to do all this. Even when my OH used to cut my hair for me it was a massive pain in the dick with the cable getting in the way, strangling me, etc.
Cordless FTW, you fucking freaks.
Ask your pharmacist. They love that type of stuff.
