Turkey Teeth?
Not even sure the usual veneers would work as you need OK teeth to file down to stick them to, right?

My dentist in Perry Hill does sedation. I would absolutely recommend this.

I don't have any direct experience but I think you need to see an orthodontist rather than a dentist. There are loads of options these days from caps and fascias, conventional braces, to full-on implants. I guess it just depends on how much you can spend, because all of these procedures are wildly expensive.

Ortho is SUPER expensive. My kids teeth or eating?

My eighteen year old crown is on its last legs, it's been glued back in twice in the last few years. An implant is gonna cost me over A$5k. 😐

Is that too calm you after seeing the size of bill after getting a full mouthful of teeth fixed?

I knocked out 2 teeth completely and snapped 2 in a bike commute that ended in a face plant in about 2014 (one of said teeth was "missing" and was found via xray in my top lip when the swelling finally went down.
Anyway, ended up with 2 implants and 2 crowns. One cap fell out 4 years ago and was glued back in. Apart from that, lasted well. Cost me £2k at the time i think, mix of NHS and private (same dentist, did what he could on NHS and rest private).

Given the previous experience at the dentist made me jump out the chair and have a minor wobble, I think paying for the sedation was great. Also, it was hilarious for my family watching me repeat myself.

Mate, that's fucking bullshit.
Is there a class action or something you can join?

I never heard of one. Any research I did before came back with it being a problem that he wasn't actually struck off so there was no real admission of guilt. While I'd happily offer him some amateur dentistry if I ever saw him again, I can't be arsed to expend any real effort on it. I just want a fix now. I have been recommended Invisalign and they seem to be saying they can help with an open bite so I'm going to at least have a consultation. Seems there is an "Expert Provider" at the same practice I went to last so have reached out to them.

I only just tried the nitrous last time I went. Holy crap, that's the shit!
Weird though how it doesn't stop the pain; it just makes it readily tolerable. Kind of like being punched in the face while being sucked off, as I put it at the time

Best of luck, dude

Cheers. Admittedly, action is mostly being driven by wanting the ability to bite through stuff properly and not have the contents of a burger/sandwich pull out an land on my chin. Or all of the cheese coming off a slice of pizza.

Does that do it for you? I've eaten heaps of beetroot over the years and never had red piss until I tried those Beetz shots before races. Then it looked like I'd lost an internal organ.

A few years ago my front teeth were diverging to a point of annoyance and I went through the Invisalign process. Totally recommend it as there wasn’t any invasive dentistry, just a series of braces that gradually move the teeth.
One thing that I didn’t know before was at the end they affix a concealed wire behind your front 6-8 teeth to keep them from wandering back. I don’t notice it now. And you need to wear a retainer at night but I had to do that anyway because I grind mine like a sheep.

Good to know, thanks

Nice teeth!
I rarely saw a dentist as a child (and don't go as often as I should as an adult), but thankfully have only ever needed one filling.
I do have a visibly chipped front tooth, that I broke when I was 12. For some reason, I have recently become more self conscious about it.
-
• #3144
That’s really impressive, over how long?
-
• #3145
Cheers, it feels good to not be self-conscious of them. Took about 8 months and around £2.5k but paid monthly over a year wasn't too bad. And they're still my own gnashers.
What really stood out was the attentiveness when compared with some of these other alignment companies (and Christ did I get cookie spammed) - there were regular check ups at my dentist to measure the progress, proper x-rays to before anything started, 3D scans of my entire mouth to construct the braces, a whitening session etc. Twice we needed to bin all the sets (you fit new ones weekly) because the odd tooth wouldn't play ball and they absorb all that cost as part and parcel.
Those companies where you bite on some clay and they send you some braces really shouldn't be allowed. The guy who did mine was telling me some horror stories of people left with loads of wobbly teeth because they've been moved too far. -

Sam Pilgrim is cool. Maybe I should stan him and get the whole tooth removed. Conveniently it would match my six year old who has knocked out the same one (thankfully milk teeth in his case).

The transition, from here, to where things fall apart, is another thread? Other than the Pre-1950’s bike page or retrobike lol
Is there a pre-retiring / just retired / not ready mentally / body-not-ready thread?
A grumparents thread?
The so-fucken-bliss-happy-biekGrandParents-thread?
I mean, I’m feeling faded but teeny-tiny grandkids on balance-machines et. al. must be a thing for others on here? -

grandkids
I'm about to turn fifty, and I've only been a dad for four months... Probably won't live to see any grandkids. It'll take a bit of luck to see his 21st!

Don't people go abroad for this now?
