Did consider some for my kitchen floor but realised I couldn't pull off a windmill without taking the washing machine out.

Lego vs Meccano,
for a brief while in the '60s, there was a Uk/british competitor to Lego,
'Better Builder' or possible 'Betta Builda'.
Rather than Lego's standardtwin row brick/beam,
BB was resolutely single row, amking childish constructions much flimsier.I also remember it had green roofing tiles, that connected to make a pitched roof.
You never had enough corner, (internal & external), pieces to complete you masterwork,
although you did learn to 'brick-count' to ensure you had a chance of making
at least a balanced/equal pitched roof. -

I've really enjoyed the Genesis-themed programming on BBC4 this evening ... probably a good definition of middle aged, especially as I found myself explaining to my daughter how they lost the plot after The Lamb.

Was certainly more interesting than watching the superbowl-esqued rugby, or celebrity twats competing against each other for public adoration.

I was discussing the good old days when I was a kid when youngsters were always falling through asbestos rooves on garage blocks. It doesn't seem to happen nowadays, I blame these bloody computer games.

Someone broke into my garage through the wiggly asbestos roof. I hope they die of a horrible lung disease.
There wasn't even anything in there to steal. -

I have just been walking my dog in the park.
Because it's fairly damp today, my jeans felt a little 'heavy'. I found myself thinking 'perhaps I should buy a pair of Rohan trousers for dog walking'.
I am in Greenwich Park most mornings. Please fucking shoot me.

Rohan do some fairly nice jeans, quite stretchy and comfortable. Not much more expensive than a fashionable pair either.

OH is trying to get me to buy wellington boots for dog-walking. Would rather gargle with someone else's vomit than join the Hampstead Heath Hunter welly set. I will continue to wear my Merrell walking shoes and get my jeans muddy, thanks very much.

hunters?!?! neoprene bucklers!

My OH bought me some wellies as she was not happy with the muddy walking shoes and trousers combo.
Bogs make some good ones I now have their Rancher boot.

A neighbour also imports the tretorn boots and has offered me a sample pair - some of theirs are really price insulated and with gore tex.
-
• #1321
Just get leather foundry boots from sports direct. Waterproof, good grip, not wellies and with a steel toe cap to give a pre-emtive kick to #bloodycyclists who might otherwise run you over.

My barber now trims my eyebrows.
The first time I was shocked as he did it with no warning at all and now I don't feel like I've had my moneys worth unless he does it.
