  • I had many looks one of which was scared and over my shoulder as I lived in Burnham and had to often run the gauntlet of the Britwell Boot Boys as they were affectionately known. They were a group of skins and the like who didn't like grammar school kids, or anyone else for that matter. Pillars of the community now, I've no doubt.

  • Hammersmith Palace I saw Animal Nightlife, Astoria The Associates.

  • Observations on this thread.
Nostalgias not what it used to be.
    Music-fashion-eratastic
You should all know better and do some fucking work.
    As you were

  • that is precisely where I saw Joy Division,
a timid student wandering down from Stoke Bishop to a bit of real Bristol.

Bloody hell. * Waves walking stick in greeting *

  • Where will all the middle aged readers and contributors who vaguely know each other, linked by age and interests, and beer, go when this site winds up.?
Its cool getting instant responses from writers, journos and activists on twatter,
but nothing like reading between the lines on here.
    Sad day for microcosm.
Guess everything goes in circles and @Velocio made an amazing looking site here, one door closes-another opens.

  • I personally will miss you all. Whoever you are. What was the question?

  • retrogrouch bike

  • ...just spat my tea out

  • This is the middle aged thread, don't you mean Ovaltine?

  • the first band i ever saw was joy division , i had not heard of them and as the ticket stub says "buzzcocks + support" i was a young wannabe punk . joy division blew me away and i dont remember the buzzcocks at all .........

  • ...just spat my tea out

What? Are you suggesting that young @Arvy is not beautiful?

  • He was almost radiant last night. A shining beacon in the dark.

  • Kate Bush went to all the same parties as me, she was my doctor's daughter (she was also boring and had terrible skin).

I knew Boy George before he could apply his own make-up.

I canned Midge Ure off stage (with many others) when he was with the Rich Kids prior to fucking up Ultravox.

I had a couple of beers with Debbie Harry in Amsterdam.

I guess that was a boastpost, now, what's a barber and where's my Zimmer.....

  • Dr Bush was my Dad's family doctor, so that claim to fame is not unique, sorry.

  • I did security for Bucks Fizz, York Racecourse, 1991.

  • Were you at the parties? Have we met? Should we share memories of the glories of Welling? Is this my house?

  • Adam and the ants @ Cornwall coleseium. pre Prince charming :)

  • How come you no longer have a bush on your head? Was he not a good doctor? Good doctors should sell elixirs to prevent hair loss.

  • no, i wasnt at the parties (I'm not that middle-aged), I could probably share memories of Plumstead High street.

  • When your waste size in inches catches up with your age....

....need to eat n drink less and ride more.

  • When you can't remember the last twenty miles on the motorway.

  • Lets face it we are all still very cool people and cycling is keeping us young.

  • Lets face it we are all still very cool people and cycling is keeping us young.

Yes, but it's not gonna change that in the end we will all die.

  • if we's allowed boastposts

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMa7iqPaKPk
