I'm not stopping over - I've got a huge cheese and wine party to attend back in the provinces that evening, so I'm taking the train home at 5.30-ish and pedalling like a fury for a date with gout!
I should be good for all manner of wheeled shenanigans before then, however, such as hipflask tomfoolery and straining pints of ale through one's impressive moustache!

As you’re aware Tweed Run is holding a special edition on 26 November.
We’ll be requiring marshals to volunteer for the event as well. As in previous years, we’ll be holding recce rides for those marshals so we’re all familiar with the route and can work as a team to guide the Tweeded masses safely the day.
Recce’s will be held on the 12th ,13th ,19th and 20th of November from 11am departing from Covent Garden and everyone will be asked to participate on the eve of the 25th as one final recce the night before. It’s a few hours each day and we’ll need you to commit to at least 2 recce’s and the night of the 25th.
We’re aiming for 50 marshals including 5 head marshals and 1 Lead Marshal.
As per usual we’ll require you to be a strong and safe rider, able to aid in sorting out a puncture and knowledge of London. Preference is of course for cycle instructors, people with club run, large ride or previous marshal experience.
If you want to, a list can start here: Please PM your contact details copying in Jacqui & Teddy.
Ps; we’ll also need about 6 -8 volunteers for the Tea Break. (non marshals)

The confirmation email would suggest that the Rider packs are only available in London the week prior to the ride? Are they not being posted out again or available on the day?
They are not being posted out. They are available the week of the 19th.

Its the Lord Mayor's show- so the City might be tricky, if the route goes through it.

Hello All!
Thank you so much for volunteering to be marshals. We could not do it with out you! As marshals you are the ambassadors, helpers and guides to the Tweed masses that will be joining us on the day. Its going to be an amazing day, that goes without saying! We will be meeting on both Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th to do a Recce of the ride.
We will meet at 11 am outside the Rugby Store in Covent Garden. The recce will take us 2 – 2.5hrs. On the day we expect the ride to last 4hrs. If at all possible, i’d like you to attend both but if not, one will do so long as you are able to do the night before as well (this will be after work) and the only time ALL the marshals will be working as one group before the day. This is essential as we all need to know the route well enough to guide any unfortunates (those with punctures etc., ) back to the main group. Its also a training exercise to help us all work together better on the day. Marshals are necessary at key intersections to help calm traffic, advise drivers of the route so they can make alternative choices, to tell the on lookers what we are doing (people are always asking when they see such a fine display) and of course to keep the rest of the riders together and out of danger!
We’ll be stopping at junctions and for that we need our marshals to be at the front, we’ll be their guides to good cycling practice. We’ll be holding traffic where there is a chance of a vehicle getting trapped in the flow and we’ll be chatting and ensuring that everyone no matter what their ability feels included and welcome on the run. I am positive that we can do this with great style and finesse.
I’ll be handing out tire levers and tubes to you on the day so you don’t have to worry about using your own to aid a fellow cyclist. Please bring the tools you would normally bring on a cycling day out (a spanner and a pump are helpful as are allan keys). Inevitably, someone will forget theirs!
If you are able to fix a puncture, and I do hope most of you are, let us know. Likewise if you are not able this is good to know so that your head marshal knows not to allocate you to help if someone does need assistance. Please take my mobile from the thread with phone numbers and do confirm etiher by text or email (Jacqui@tweedrun.com) that you are able to attend.
I really am looking forward to meeting you all –
Kindest Regards,
Jacqui -

I can't make the recces so can't marshall this one but had a great time working the last one and would heartily recommend the experience.
