Anyones got any rimbrake shifters hiding in their parts box? Im mainly after the ones with the hidden button (8050, 9070, 9150), but will listen to anything.
Just got mugged off on ebay, received a 6870 that was advertised as a 8050....that'll be a return.

Ok, new issue. Need to update the firmware on my bcr-2 charger. To update this, I need Etube project 3.4.5. To install that, I need NET 3.5 framework on my desktop.
First of all, what the fuck. Its 2021.
But more importantly, Ive done everything I could in terms of windows troubleshooting:
- Turning NET 3.5 on in "windows features on/off" in control panel,
throws all different errors and doesnt succeed in installing - Windows update troubleshooter, shows error but does nothing about it
- Group policy settings edited as suggested in windows support docs
- Deleting & renaming SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders, forcing it to recreate them
- Trying to force install from command line (leaves same errors in dism logs as the control panel route)
- Latest security update....etcetc
Im at the end of my IT capabilities here. ....Anyone around east london / central / SE that has done this before and I could plug my charger in to update it?
Am I going to encounter more surprises that I'll need the older etube project for? Maybe its time I do a full wipe and reinstall of my desktop anyway...

I went through all that too, trying to use Parallels on a Mac. My solution was to get my mum to send me her ancient laptop, which does everything I needed it too, it just takes 9hrs to register I've clicked the mouse button

Yaaay, got an older laptop from work and on that one I managed to enable NET 3.5. Then realized its running windows 10 S, so wont allow me to install anything outside of Microsoft store :D Luckily I had admin rights on it so updated to PRO, and off I went with it...
Aaand my Di2 system is working :) Also got some actual r8050 shifters in the meantime.

In case someone is looking for it, this seller has got shitloads of GRX di2 stock.
Probably only worth it though if you buy in "bulk".
Edit: While Im here. Can a di2 system work in full syncroshift mode without any front shifter buttons? Just by using 2 buttons to adjust rear shifter. In theory, yes, but in practice the lack of buttons assigned to FD might stop syncroshift being enabled?

Not tried but I think the whole point is so people can shift without thinking about the front mech so as long as it has one connected, I don't see that allocating a button to it would make much difference.

I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. I almost never touch the front shifter buttons.
You can’t microadjust the front mech without them though. You could temporarily reassign the rear buttons to do that though.
And a lot of people probably don’t even know you can micro adjust the front mech.
Edit: just tried unplugging the front shifter on mine. Everything still works fine.

I've got a pair of 10s ultegra mechs and some new R8000 series ultegra calipers. If I got the new Tiagra Hydro shifters would both work okay with them? Obviously finding a pair is a bit complicated...
So. Wrong place but I figured out the answer. Works for the callipers but not the rear mech.

Excuse the cross post but if anybody is looking for a bar end junction box, mine is for sale. Make me an offer.

Did anyone happen to pick up one of those di2 triple FD when they were getting flogged cheaply? My friend and I are looking to setup our tandem with di2 and were hoping to get hold of one of these.

Right, new issue with the rear mech (R8050).
When I try and explain it, it sounds stupid, but the rear mech has recently started undoing itself so the whole thing moves outward by almost the whole cassette distance. It's like the parallelogram is being inverted, so i'm in the 11t cog and it only wants to shift down.
I can lift the chain up to the middle of the cassette and then manually push the mech back, it feels like it has to go past a point then pops back into place. At first glance everything seems aligned but it has done it 3 times in the last two off road rides for no apparent reason, just when shifting it suddenly binds up.Any ideas what is going on?

This sounds exactly like the crash protection feature:
https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16091355/When you move the cage manually it pushes the tooth round until it reengages with the notch on the motor.
Though it shouldn't come apart willy nilly, obviously.

That's awesome thanks. At least a god place to start. I will inspect for loose parts, dents etc.

That said, when it first happened, I tried to do crash recovery and it shifted off the bottom of the cassette. So not a simple crash mode scenario

My combination of AXS XX1 and XTR 12 speed is continuing to work perfectly despite filling the entire drivetrain with sandy water on a daily basis.

What the hell? Is this really a thing, because I'd be very surprised.

My X01 AXS has been on the Cotic for the best part of 18 months now and been absolutely faultless.
I've been looking out for some Force AXS shifters so I can run a Force/X01 combo on the CX bike but group sets are like hens teeth at the moment. -

Yeah. They were xt ones

They were xt ones
I think XTR (FD-M9050) is the 3× Di2 front dérailleur. If you look by part number it's on sale at £135 from Probikekit, although their stock control is traditionally not very pro so they might not have it, and £173 from xxcycle who are much more reliable

You’re right. It was xtr. They were on clearance a while ago for about 40 I think.

If you plot the ratios for 38/50/52 rings, it flattens the curve to bigger gaps in the big ring beautifully. A Di2 road half-step triple would be glorious...

Can someone link me to the correct hydraulic cables for the 12 speed Sram AXS Road stuff. It seems pretty confusing as to what cable I need to order.
Thanks
how much for Di2? ;)
