  • Yours?

  • It's all about buying speed this year - I think national medals deserves more than a 500 quid frameset. I want to build a new posh TT bike with Di2.
Ui2 has no TT shifters yet and I'm not using the old Di2 as it's dead-end. Once I can get new Di2 I'll pick a suitable frameset.

  • Buying speed? You need this.

  • Got an Eprex one already but still kicking myself for not grabbing this beauty.

  • You can buy the 9070 stuff on German sites now, and a guy on Weight Weenies has just received his C'dale Evo with 11 speed DA Di2.

    Etc.

Boring I know but I'm WADA legal. Is this a pregnancy kit? Are you calling me fat?

    Etc.

Do they do the whole groupset + TT kit?

The stuff I was eyeballing last night was on the flagship Giant model, owned by I think, a local racer. Something like £11k of bike.

  • They (from a quick scan of the site) don't offer a complete groupset price, just individual components, but I imagine if you email them they would do so.

Let me know if you decide to go for it- I'll add an Ultegra Di2 shifting kit to your order.

  • Won't be long before Shimano released the Alfine Di2 as a single option for left and right handed cyclists.

  • Shimano hydraulic discs spotted, Di2 too.

  • Well that's me in limbo.

  • It was long rumoured to be coming, but until it has a price and availability it's vapourware.

That said, Shimano seem very adept at keeping the lid on new developments until they want people to know about them.

  • Ryan wants to show the new bike at Bespoked Bristol, which gives me a deadline to get the parts.

I'm beginning to think the best thing to do would be to transfer the 7970 Di2 off my roadbike and use (say) BB7.

It's unquestionable that I want the bike to have Hydro Di2.

  • Ryan wants to show the new bike at Bespoked Bristol, which gives me a deadline to get the parts.

That's Ryan's deadline, not yours surely?

Seems a bit unreasonable to expect you to rush buying the parts for it.

  • If a framebuilder offer to build your bicycle in a short space of time, that's a great win.

Sadly, it's backfired with what Dammit want with the frame, can understand the rush as the long wait allowed me to obtrain unusual part required for my bicycle.

  • Well, if I moved my 7970 over I could move the Hope V-Twin over as well, which would give the bike electronic shifting and hydraulic brakes without buying any new parts.

I could then move the 7970 back onto the road bike when Hydro Di2 came out.

Does leave me without my roadbike though.

Re Ryans deadline- true, however I'd like to do what I can to help promote his business.

  • I still don't think Dammit should find the parts. The frame builder should be able to put together a temporary build for the show.

When the shows over, strip it down again.

  • ^^ Can you just move it over for the weekend of Bespoked Brizzle? Then it's only a weekend without the road bike?

  • ^^^ Aren't the parts on the Dale a bit worn looking by now. I can't imagine that would look good on a show bike?

  • I probably just can't stand the thought of stripping and rebuilding more bikes at the moment.

  • BN- maybe someone established with a shop associated with the framebuilding business, but that's not Oak right now- he's doing well, but it's a business that is still in its initial phase I think.

I could be wrong, and he's actually minted of course.

Branwen- yeah, that's certainly an option, would banjo the powercordz though as they're single use.

BN #2 they are certainly used, marking is minimal though as I try to take care of my stuff.

Ah, that makes a bit more sense then. I've never really looked into his set-up.

  • I probably just can't stand the thought of stripping and rebuilding more bikes at the moment.

This is true, I've just about got the Cannondale ready for when the sun comes out, I don't want to strip it down.

Also, to be honest, it's probably about time I admitted that it's obsolete now and stopped compulsively upgrading it.

I should probably leave it in its final incarnation and start saving for something 100% new for next year.
