  • I wonder if its skipped a few teeth inside the motor or something. Give it a shove whilst shifting? :P Perhaps it might be a good candidate for dissasembly :)

  • Calling all eTap users.

What chainrings are you all using? I've been happy with my praxis so far, but will be buying a pair of 50/34's shortly and am not sure whether to go for rotor noq's or another set of praxis. Price wise, little in it.

  • Meh, it's not mine and it's fucked, so it's an SEP. I've told @Cycliste she either needs a new 6770 rear mech, or 6870 front and rear mechs.

Mind you, this bike also needs a new rear rim and needs to have the frame repairing, so it's not exactly urgent...

  • Rotors play nice, but I think everything from that price bracket is likely to be fine.

  • I'm using Rotor NoQs, with no issues to report.

  • I'm using the Rotor NoQ's as well. no problems. I did try the AbsoluteBlack Oval and it was a pain...

  • Cheers all.

  • Are there any alternatives to the shimano charger for the junction A 3 port box? Just picked up one from CRC and the charger is twice the price.

  • Sram 22 rings also work great.

  • Would they fit on my rotor cranks?

  • and they have the bonus of being on the compatibility list :)

  • I don't see why they wouldn't? They have standard 5 bolt design.

Also isn't it for your p2m? The crankset is irrelevant if so.

  • Mind, the price of the chainrings alone almost makes it make more sense to just buy the whole crankset

  • Anyone want to swap cables and possibly junction boxes? 650mm for 350mm and 5 port for 3?

  • It's for the P2Max

  • I have a 3 port for sale just incase you can't find a swapper.

  • Much appreciate the offer, but not that required. Cateye button experiment was successful but pointless as I never use tops so this is wasted on me.

  • Technical diagnostics question here:
    Internal Di2 Ultegra
Rode the bike on Saturday and Sunday. Checked battery level on Saturday and it was still green.

Yesterday went to change gear and nothing. Can't get the junction box a to light up by either pressing shifters or crash reset button. When I plug in the charger the light does not illuminate on the charger or the junction box.

Took the battery out of the seatpost and checked it with a multimeter was about 2V. Left the bike plugged in again to charge for a couple hours, still no light on junction box or charger. Checked battery again with multimeter, 0.2V

Thought that something might be loose in the internal junction box b, so plugged battery directly into junction box a instead of one of the shifters and tried to charge. No luck.

My guess is the battery is dud and system doesn't have power to recognise charger or something. I don't have a windows PC at home, so can't use the e tube software yet.

Anyone with di2 sleuthing skills seen anything similar or have any ideas/

  • your battery is dead, it should be around 7,4V. Send it back to where you bought it and Shimano will provide a new one. Happened to me once..

  • That is what I thought. I can't imagine the volage would be that low a depleted battery.

Does anyone know if shimano's two year warranty applied to parts sold as part of a full bike?

  • Take it back to the shop, this isn't your problem.

Assuming you're in the EU, goods have to work for a reasonable amount of time, where reasonable depends on the product.

  • LBS confirmed battery is f'd for £20 using the PCE-1. System was fireware updated and worked with a new battery.

Edinburgh Bikes (bike chain bike shop up here) where I got the bike from has ordered a replacement but will probably take 10 days to come in. Seemed happy with explanation to do as a warranty replacement without their own diagnostics.

  • Does anyone have a spare JC-41 internal junction box and a 650mm cable? In London, can collect or pay postage if required.

  • eTap done shat itself. Anyone got a number or an email for SRAM Europe?

  • What's happened and where did you purchase?

I had a rear mech die on a ride once. I was, very luckily, near oxford and a bike shop who had a very good relationship with SRAM. They kindly swapped me out a rear mech from one of their full groups on the spot.

I was unable to contact SRAM directly.
