in other news, this is now available:
apparently it's a 2 port design.. how the hell are you gonna connect 2 shifters AND have a wire go to the rest (battery and derailleurs)!?
-
• #2078
Hah yea it takes me a while to get used to it when I go back to riding it.

Use a jc41 (dumb) junction box, or possibly several...

Apparently they released this: https://www.bike-components.de/de/Shimano/Y-Kabel-Verteiler-EW-JC130-fuer-Dura-Ace-Di2-R9150-Modell-2017-p51473/

You use a Junction B box somewhere else. That effectively just works as a charging port and adjustment doodah, with an in and an out wire. You'll need a junction B box to link together everything else. Saves having to have lots of wires all going down the handlebars.

So I've got the new junction box and y cables ready to setup but still need to find a new handlebar that will be compatible. Apparently a lot of the bars that appear compatible are heavy on carbon at the stem clamp point and don't allow a cable to go through from one side to the other.
Has anyone seen the pro vibe aero available anywhere yet? -

do you have the front for sale?
theres nothing on ebay finishing this week, prepared to pay £90..?
-
• #2085
Sure. Pm me and we can sort out the details...
-
• #2086
Oh, I want one!
-
• #2087
I thought the cables would be exiting near the shifters? Don't they already have holes there?
-
• #2088
It appears most cable channels don't enter the main handle bar hollow, and a lot of carbon bars are semi solid at the clamp which is not great for the shifter furthest away from the junction

Silent. Position of the SW-R600 switch is a bit awkward - might move it onto the grip itself - but other than that, it's perfect.
Outers are Jagwire, the cable to the rear has to go on a bit of a journey.
I'll take a pic of any side I like. Also, the bottom of the 'E' of Livewrong has fallen off on the other side...

I see. That's no good.
Know any normal round semi-compact bars, like FSA do, that will work with it?

Just got my first internal Di2 from a fellow forumite and it didn't come with a charger. Do I really need the £70 Shimano one? Or will anything that gives the right amps/volts/gigawatts work?
And what about the d-fly thing to link it to my Garmin? Is that redundant now there's an app? Although I'm struggling to think how that works...
-
• #2093
You need the shimano charger. It should have really come with the charger. Unless it explicitly said it didn't.
-
• #2094
The charger is a separate item. I would not expect a charger with a battery.
-
• #2095
Not clear what @ArfurPill bought, a "di2 groupset" may or may not include it.
-
• #2096
A di2groupset comes with a charger no?
The bikes over bought came with a charger.
Yup standalone purchase comes with a charger. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-ultegra-6870-di2-11-speed-groupset/?lang=en&curr=GBP&dest=1&sku=5360755276&kpid=5360755276&utm_source=google&utm_term&utm_campaign=UK_PLA_Components&utm_medium=base&utm_content=mkwid%7CsCvofmgqz_dm%7Cpcrid%7C67090789142%7Cpkw%7C%7Cpmt%7C%7Cprd%7C5360755276uk

That's assuming they bought a groupset. "internal Di2" makes it sound like they've just bought the internal wiring setup or just battery.
Anyway, I've bought a 'groupset' by buying individual bits before which meant I didn't need to buy another charger. So, if it's not mentioned I wouldn't assume it to be included.

If I have a 3 port junction box, can I plug in bar end tt shifters to a junction box b and the one wire from junction b to A. or do they need to go into junction A to get the system to recognise them?
-
• #2099
Yeah okay who knows what the listing said or what he bought. But a di2 specific charger is needed.
-
• #2100
I think that's how my Shiv is set up. I only have a 3-port outside and presume the other junction box is down at the BB for battery.
ohh it's not that my gloves make me hit the wrong button or anything.. it's just that I forget which button shifts up or down for my front derailleur, since I never use it..
