By the way, I built these at the weekend:
They worked ok, as long as they had bags weighing them down. I'm going to build an improved version in a few weeks.

And carry them in your bag to throw ins and league games? Dedicated.

That's the idea, I want portable goals.
I'm not going to start bringing them to every throwin, but maybe at weekends, or for important games.

Cool!

Who picked up my green ball after the Torndadoes / King's fixture last week please?
-
• #158
i thought it was lost when Valentine shot and it flew off Nik's wrist and over the fence...

Cool!
Well, maybe.
At the moment they aren't quite good enough, they fall over without something to weigh them down, and as i used the thinnest piping they are a bit floppy.
So I'm going to rebuild them using thicker pipe, a better net (it ripped in places), and look at how I can weigh them down while still keeping it portable.

How come no one went to look for it?

Max and I both did...

Ha, I was just teasing. Losing polo balls is an inevitability.
Thanks for looking.
Cursed grass coloured polo ball. -

...they fall over without something to weigh them down...
Make a loop of gaffer tape (stuck to itself) in each of the rear corners and use it to hold a brick (or similar) in place at either end for ballast. -
• #164
Well yes, but then you've got to bring bricks with you everywhere (as we don't just have them sitting around). That's my main issue at the moment.
Also it's not very safe in the event of a crash. I had the same idea, but with sandbags.

That's the problem with London - too tidy.

• #166
Yep, c those the ones. Pretty cheap, but year guaranty.
Edit, woah, whole extra page I didn't notice...
-
• #167
2Kg weight, that's fairly manageable, but they don't look like they will fold down much
-
• #168
If anyone sees them in a sainsbury's can you check the size. Sainsbury's website is confused I think, says 6x3ft but down below in the product details it say 120x90x30cm. 1kg a goal isn't too bad.
-
• #169
The box says 6ft by 3ft... They didn't have one on display so can't really say more than that. But the box wasn't massive, defiantly manageable.
John, how much did your prototype cost and how small could you pack it down too?
-
• #170
About £40 for a pair. Packs down to a triangle 90 x 50 x 80, as in that photo.
