  • damn. Will miss those games, at the olympic velodrome all weekend. Would be great to watch.

  • Awesome. In the diary. Will deffinitly be there.

  • John h - would you like a warm up or a warm down with Kings on Sunday?

  • Erm. maybe warm up? Not too fussed.

    Shall we say:

    4pm Kings - Pouces En L'air
    5:30 Pouces En L'air - 13
    6:30 13 - LeBigMac

Hopefully leaves enough time for throw ins in between.

  • Cool with me. Mitch, right?

  • Yep.

  • Awesome. 18th will be an awesome day.

  • john will you make sure mitch is cleared?

  • Yes. Otherwise we'll have to move it.

  • Awesome. In the diary. Will **deffinitly **be there.

    Def-init-(ly)

  • Cool so Dave is gonna sub for us and we can play most weeknights and on. Weekends. Wednesdays not so good.

So how many games has Dave played with Nice Touch? And how many will he play with Tornadoes?

Maybe we should just have Dave sub for every team. He could be the only league sub. That would be even better.

  • Def-init-(ly)

    lol

    definitely.

  • i've played in every nice touch game so far, some subbing for Cam when he was out with broken ribs, some subbing for James.

I'll back out if it's going to cause a shit storm - life's to short…

    max, pique any thoughts?

  • I'm not trying to be a dick or a hater or anything, Dave (and Tornadoes), but if you've played an entire season with a single team, it seems uncool to sub for another team too. There are plenty of other good subs out there.

Among other reasons, given that Dave is one of the best players, in most cases having him as a sub will be an advantage for a team, and I don't think teams needing a sub should necessarily get an advantage by taking a sub. And surely it fucks up the integrity of league standings if a team has to play against the super-sub against two different teams, no?

If there were a rule on subs -- such as, a sub can only sub with one team per season -- this would cut down on the ability of teams to gain an advantage with subs. For example, a supersub would probably not sub for a lower team, if asked first, but would wait for the chance to sub with a top team? Maybe?

Dave is an awesome person to play with (and against), it's not surprising he's a popular sub... it's not as if Erin broke her arm on purpose?

Agreed that subs are not usually as awesome as Dave, but the change in "team dynamic" is enough of a penalty in my opinion?

a sub can only sub with one team per season

This "solution" will restrict the availability of subs for the league far too much?

  • 18th Feb

Early afternoon - Nice Touch vs. Spring Break
After lunch - Nice Touch vs. Cosmic

I think I'm right in thinking these games will determine the winner of the League. Location to be decided. Probs Downs or Newt.

    Booooooom

    (19th Feb Valentines Tourney)

This is not confirmed. I'm 50% certain I won't be in London that weekend: I'm checking.

  • Erin broke her arm? Oh no. Get well soon.

Totally within the rules; your call.

  • the main issue is that dave meant lifes 'too' short.

  • Oh, and Brendan meant "life's" too short.

I think there are plenty of subs. Perhaps a less restrictive solution would be to state that a sub cannot play on two different teams against the same team.

It just seems to completely undermine the ranking system if one team is forced to play the same player (potentially a supersub) in two different fixtures (which, actually, will be six games total).

  • On the train, going to be late for our first game, soz guys.

  • Shifties - can we play Friday night? At Mitch?
