I'd call a containers worth bulk, which is probably what they ordered.
But yeah the main point was that they haven't got Ricky Feather knocking the frames up for them or anything like that.
Fair enough. There is a picture of delivery online. A containers worth seems about right.

Personally I'm not all too fussed about who made it, it's the final product that matters. Those "Tokyo Fixed" decals do bug me though :/

Really? I think they're pretty well done. Good colour combo with the frame, pretty clean. I don't think they're ugly or imposing.
You could always just tape over them. Or get some colnago ones with a White background and stick them over the top.

It's a minor thing, just not a fan of decals in general.
To those who think the S1 is a good deal, but would not buy it: What is a better deal?

They are built in Taiwan. I wouldn't call it bulk. I think less than 100 were built, they aren't bespoke though if that's what you mean.
Built in China, and I suppose you would call it "bulk", but we have no issues disclosing that. It's our production frame. It's not a custom frame.
I've just finished the design process of version 2 of the S2, should be another step in the right direction. Also finished 4 other new frames - you guys best get ready! -

^^ Hey Jammy, it certainly wasn't a dig. I've ordered containers from China and it's the only way to do it. Not bikes I must add though.
I'm crossing fingers for some RAW action for phase two. Any idea on lead times??

Any updates on these frames? I'm interested to see what the new version of the S2 looks like.

Samples are being sent over to us as we speak, and I'll be signing off the final drawings for the factory to go in to production before the new year. Paint/graphics is finished too.
I'm hoping for a February drop.... -

Excellent. I've finally had to admit to myself that I won't be satisfied until I have a brakeless fixie skidder with a flat crown fork and threaded steerer to mince about on. I was thinking maybe Soma Rush frame with S2 fork but I think I'll wait and have a look at the new S2's. Will you be getting some 60 or 61cm ones made?

We will be going up to a 59cm CtC, or about 60.5 CtT

Built in China
Interested to know if looked at other manufacturers and even other countries of origin, and what you found on the price/quality scale for these builds.
Had a discussion yesterday about labour costs in China starting to rise on quality manufactured goods.
Increasing numbers of carbon frames being made of course now in places like South Korea.

I,ve been looking into them too and keeping a close eye in the progress, I've been told they expect them later in march, rather than the earlier expected date of mid February, the S1 is remaining black but will be cheaper so i hear with a £600 price tag due to the use of cheaper tubing. The S2 will be similarly priced to remain in competition with the brother frames they sell, but i think they will have a wider range of colours, silver, light blue and red are the ones I've been told of (but no black to my knowledge :( ), but as I say this isn't official :) merely the word on the grape vine

Didn't see that Jammy was an official word, maybe he has a more reliable answer but i think I'm pretty accurate...correct me if I'm wrong

Has anyone bought one of the 2012 S2's? Thoughts etc?
I was seriously considering one at the end of last year but the price increase has tipped me into indecision.
Also Brother are getting that nice Reynolds frame that recently sold out made in a 61cm this time.

yep any reviews of the 2012 s2 would be appreciated, especially about the tubing (is it something as heavy as reynolds 520?).
when you said JIS I thought you were talking BB and cranks. I'm not sure about headset crown
