Fly bike. I know this doesn't help the sale, but where did you get your veloce group? That other guy seemed to suggest you could get it for 245, but i can't seem to find anything below 340? Thanks, good luck with the sale.
I paid £215.00 here but needed the big chainring was warped, so the total became £250.00. I bought the groupset here, mentioning no names, but the seller didn't mention the warped ring - which resulted in me almost breaking my head open and disappearing under the wheels of a lorry.
According to gios78 you can buy a bike on eBay with fully restored frame, new parts and nearly new Campag groupset for £500.00, so that might be your best bet. Take the groupset off, keep or sell the parts, sell the frame, you'd be quids in! Assuming gios78 knows what he's talking about.

depends on which day of the week . i like to dress up at weekends ....
as for my knowledge of rossin bikes - its zero but i do like them (frame and forks mint £200 ?) did sell my mint NOS ciocc with nitto, modolo ,fsa wheels etc singlespeed for £600 on ebay (which is pretty much what it cost to build) i cant see a powdercoated rossin with used veloce selling for double that unless it had full croce d'aune
best to see by giving it a pop cos nobody on here is gonna pay that kinda money just cos you spent too much on the build !

Here we go again.....
If I had used full Croce d'Aune it would have been the wrong era (as it was introduced at the end of '87).
But I wasn't going for a contemporaneous rebuild, partly because any authentic groupset from 1982 in mintish condition seemed to be an arm & a leg, (like this one for example) but mainly because I had already decided I wanted an 'as new' frame with modern, new (or as new as possible) components because I prefer the modern shifters. What I didn't want was a ropey frame and an average respray, chucked together with some well used second hand bits, which is absolutely fine for some builds but not what I wanted. Yes, then were I to sell it I could have sold it for 4 or 5 hundred quid no problem.
I saved a little by buying a fairly new Veloce set on this forum. I got trade prices or good prices for just about everything. I might have got some better deals (for example for the tyres and inner tubes), had I looked around, but I like to support my local bike shop (owned by a mate). And I'm not hard up. But yes you can probably do better than that and I take my hat of to you. But please, let people ask for whatever price they want on this forum, you don't have to buy it if it's too much for you. And stop bullying people into thinking they have to do everything your way, even if you are expert or experienced or whatever.
Thank you.
PS I built this bike for me, not for selling. Domestic pressures intervened. However, it has now been agreed I will try to sell the Acciaio and keep the Rossin. Hooray. Except that I love the Acciaio. Boo. -

The price seems to be a bit of a sticking point here and not sure why, something is worth how ever much someone is willing to pay for it! If someone was trying to sell a new off-the-shelf for more than you can get elsewhere, then I'd understand, but for a unique build, you can set your price however you please and then someone can elect to buy it or not.

I meant check out a fully panto'd original paint Rossin for £500 ish, seems to be about the benchmark for Italian Columbus with a reasonable pedigree and a decent groupset; I sold a Ciocc with an as new Veloce ( Old style ) for less than 400 with hardly a mark on it...
I think anything above the 600 quid mark in this category needs to be summat vary tasty :)

Yes but that's not what I wanted.
Can we end it here it's getting repetitious, and you can't blame anyone for not reading all of the above posts, so not being aware of the circumstances.
**PLEASE **no more posts. The bike is going to be kept and ridden end of story.
Thanks. -

Not as repetitious as your moaning though.
A helpful hint: look at the thread tools and close the thread. Then you'll have your wish.

Thanks, it's a bit like being beaten up! (Which I was once, in a chip shop in 1977).

Good question, beautifully elucidated.
Sorry about all the moaning AndyP, I couldn't help but laugh when I read you comment. You're obviously quite the comedian.
Thanks for the advice about shutting down this thread.
