Tom I'm sure most of us will be riding back to Hatwards Heath which is about 15 miles.

  • Had a rethink, am back in but will bail at crawley(parents place). conker Ian, if you pm me your details I'll meet you en route to central London.

  • Right I need someone to text me when you're leaving Hyde Park Corner, I'm going to join you at the bottom of Brixton Hill - Digger, Dammit, Tiles, Skully, Object - you've got my number, will one of you do that?

Oh, and I'm doing this geared - I haven't ridden more than 10 miles since my operation before the summer.

  • Why, will the route go up through Brickie? In which case I might join you Mark.

  • Tom I'm sure most of us will be riding back to Hatwards Heath which is about 15 miles.

This is what I'm planning on doing.

  • I imagine that's what most are doing.

  • Why, will the route go up through Brickie? In which case I might join you Mark.

According to the map on the first page, it'll go straight through Brixton and up the hill - wanna coma and call for me at 9?

  • I'm going to figure out the final route now, from hpc to btn, PM me your number and i'll try to remeber to text you, I'm also about to post a few more details about the ride

  • Everyone have a great ride, I think this is a really lovely idea.

Here is the final route for everyone to look at, it is basically the same just takes a direct route, from the start in Hyde Park Corner.

I'll go through the ride plan before we start tomorrow, download the course if you have a garmin.

    See you all tomorrow!

  • Looking forward to this, Marky and Skully i'll meet you in Brixton as well, shall we say at the sainsburys?!>!

If not i'll aim for about 9.15 and hang about if necessary

  • When you south london guys know where you'll be can you send me a link to it on google maps so i know where to find you, cheers

  • I think I may have managed to download the course! If I have it will be a miracle but a most pleasant one.

Presume no course back to Haywards Heath Station.

  • Just seen:

    Reverse course to Haywards Heath

    Left onto A272 South Road
    Right onto B2028 Perrymount Road
    Left to station at roundabout.

I am bringing a proper light as it is getting dark early and we may be some time. Do we need locks?

  • probably not a bad idea to have one for when we are in the pub, not too sure which pub we'll be going to at the moment, probably just decide when we get there, lights also a good idea.

  • When you south london guys know where you'll be can you send me a link to it on google maps so i know where to find you, cheers

Will PM you my number and where we'll be. The new map shows a little loop up Effra Road and right on Brixton Water Lane - no need, go straight from Brixton High Street - don't take the left fork at the lights by McDonalds/KFC, and we'll see you at the bottom of Brixton Hill.

  • the picture of paul made me cry.

  • Regretfully Im out!

Jiggered my back two days ago and I just know it will get properly re-jiggered if I ride tomorrow.

Had been really looking forward to this, especially to riding with some of the old Schoolers some of whom I've not seen in an age.

Be sure to carry through Slag's suggestion for bloody marys and mixed in proportion vodka:tomato juice= 50:14.

  • I have to get my pass back, seems to have been retracted ... grrr...

Time to do shit loads of housework.

  • I too am regrettably out. I hope the ride us full of incident, minor crashes, wrong turns, plenty of drinking, roll ups, smiles and carbon to do justice to the great man :)

  • does anyone have a 18mm cone wrench they can bring tomorrow, i can use before heading out. i've fitted a surly singleator need some spring for chain tension.

    fanks
