  • I recon they are within a couple of hundred meters of each other.

  • Bunch sprint on the line or a uci brown envelope passed under the table .

  • Even if it’s under snow, at least both riders are currently on a tarmac section (I think!!). Once they hit the summit they turn onto gravel for the descent.

  • Silly me, should have looked more carefully. That last photo does look better. The earlier one that was posted of skinny suggested that he was still surrounded by snow.

  • sooo close
stop taking pictures and drop him on the last bit of the climb!

  • Closest finish to an ultra race I ever did see. Come on @skinny!!!!!!

  • Sofiane's dot is bouncing so I'm guessing James is done too... he seems to have left his tracker on top of the mountain...

    Awesome all round!

  • Nice to see they are both safe and well.

  • This is .. amazing.

  • F##king brilliant. Love it
    Congrats @skinny

  • Gwan @skinny, you absolute beast.
Your ability to suffer amazes me.

  • Yeah congratulations to both, great race @skinny, totally unpredictable ending. Look forward to reading more about it!

  • Fantastic race, great dotwatching

  • Smashed the final climb to see if I could catch him. 18km long 2.5km from the top I see him. I rest a moment eat something and then i attack him with everything. He claws back. I go again. He comes back, I go again. A gap of 10m as we approach the summit. It was incredibke, felt like I was racing a tour stage summit finish. I stop at the top and say lets ride in together. Abd we finish together.

Racing gravel descents in dark after 4 days flat out is dumb.

    Brutal race

  • Well done to both of you, the joint finish is a nice (if unexpected) touch.

  • I assumed thats what happened from dot/gram watching. What a brilliant way to finish a phenominal ride. Well done to you and Sofiane

  • Sophiane has real potential, he was strong in TransAm too. Hope to see him in more races. Well done @Skinny.

  • An Epic finish.

It’s a word used too often, but for once, perfectly apt.

  • Well done to both. A very sensible decision about the finish run-in.

  • Wow. Legendary stuff. Congrats Sofiane and @skinny.
