Thanks all!
The event is arranged with minimal organization, so for example when you get to the finish, there is nothing, no services, shops or hotels. You'll have to ride that 50-60km to find anything. So I slept there and rode to a hotel the next day. The entry fee for the event is 5 euros.
That's part of the expirience on a ride like this. You're on your own and the surroundings are rather rough. Long streches with nothing. It can be pretty cold, but it wasn't too bad now, no snow :D Quite rainy and the coldest night was around 2ºC, so you do need warm clothes.
Definitely recommended.

The finishers will get a number in the order they finish, and in the future that number will tell how many finishers there has been in total, if I understand this right. And I'll be the number one, haha

Did you forget to give us any advance warning or did you want to deprive us of the pleasure of dot-watching? Eh? See, you can't win. Er, except you just did. Well done. :)

I honestly don't know how ultracyclists do it.
I get sitting on a bike for twenty hours a day, but I don't know how one can ride through the sleep deprivation. I only had 3 hours sleep Sunday night, and even my commute home yesterday was significantly slower and I have almost narcoleptic spasms whilst cycling and the desire to just sleep.
How do you guys do it? I can't actually get past the sleep deprivation in normal life, let alone whilst cycling.

As for how do we do it during races - it's a race, we want to do it. It's a question of motivation and focus.

I was falling asleep at work so decided to head home early. Body tried to fall asleep on the commute. Felt super weird, and made me think of you nutters.

I'm not a proper ultra-cyclist (I'm not getting into "regular" sleep-deprivation over one or two weeks, just one overnighter during longer audaxes, two on LEL) but I find that I'm more resilient to sleep-dep whilst riding than otherwise. Up to a point obviously, and when I'm done riding I just collapse.

I just don't get that. Everyone has different minimum sleep requirements though and sounds like you found yours.

In hippy's case it's easy--he's so fat that the parts of his body take it in turns to sleep.
-

Yeah, my sleep deprivation limit is pretty low/high (depending on perspective)... below 4 hours sleep I'm a mess. Below 3 hours and I'm a walking narcoleptic mess.

I actually had the weird problem of not being able to sleep on the TCR.
I would slow down to a near crawl and think 'hm, better sleep'. Get all my shit out, lie down with my eyes closed for an hour without sleeping then think, fuck this and carry on. Very frustrating.

I need to compile a calendar of all (worldwide) unsupported bicycle races for 2018, if anyone can help that'd be great! Just copy and past the list and add too it. Date order.

I wasn't sure if Torino nice counts as it's explicitly called a rally. But maybe it needs to be there but with a note that it's a rally not a race.
Amazing! Well done @Samuli.
