Works for me. Are you signed into Farcebook?

I've been thinking about this recently. I am from a village 25km from the start. Better get training.
-
• #158
And it turns out he lives 3km from my house, next village over. Never heard of him in my life!!

I cycled with him during the Tour of Ireland he organised in '09. He's a nice bloke, tiny, climber at 53kg or something.

He's won RAI as well, has he not? There's great footage of that journey online somewhere.

Anywaaaaay, Steve Harvey's just put on FB that two new cyclists have just entered the Red Bull Trans Siberian. One is a World Champion (don't know at what discipline), the other is a Russian fella whose done three Grand Tours. On hols, so can't look up their details, but sounds exciting.

Mikhail Ignatyev & Ivan Kovalev. Kovalev was a world champ on the track. Ignatyev has done 10 grand tours.
I'd put some money on them winning it!

Yeah, that was what prompted his ultra exploits. Back when I met him he was on a team doing Gran Fondos for cashmoneyyo.
-
• #164
Track to ultra.. hmm. It worked for Jesse in the TransAm (BMXer).
-
• #165
You get paid to do gran fondos?
-
• #166
Front end of the field is a proper race. There are fully paid for teams racing. Bonuses awarded for wins and stuff. It's more like Kermesse racing in Belgium than Dragon Ride or something.
-
• #167
Sick. How do I get into that. I bet I could smash that up.
Love Belgium racing. Balls out.
-
• #168
I think they've cleaned it up a bit, but ten years ago the front of the field was full of ex-pros who'd been busted for doping. Rumsas, 3rd in the Tour, spent many years riding them on a wage (plus decent prize money).
-
• #169
Shame.
/I'm out then. Not that fast.
-
• #170
You've got good raw material. We'd just need to get you on the program.
-
• #171
As much as I'd like to win. Fuck the program!
-
• #172
Good man. Can you imagine being so keen to 'win' sportives that you resort to doping? Sad doesn't even begin to describe that.
-
• #173
Already happening i'd bet. In the U.S. for sure it has.

I considered moving my di2 wiring outboard. But in 10000 miles no issues...
Still considering it.
That's him, friend of mine from ultratri days. He's a phenomenal freak of nature, does pretty much no training and absolutely beasts events. Saw him break the world record for Deca Ironman, 19 days into a 30 day Triple Deca Ironman event, and then break it again the next day.
He stayed with us in March, when he was over for a RAAM briefing. Said he might do a bit of training beforehand, might not, then cranked it out despite hospitalisation - unbearably talented wee Viking hobbit shitehawk...
